How do you know how much to charge for text links on your site? I've seen all the "Link Price Calculators" out there, but almost none of them take into account the most important factor when determining how valuable a link is in terms of increased ranking, which is where the linking site ranks for the most competitive keywords in that industry. These calculators just factor in PR, Alexa (which I don't trust) mostly. Any suggestions on the most important factors to take into account? For example, this site: http://www.qualitydogs.com/ ranks well for some very competitive keywords such as 'dogs' 'puppies' etc, but does not have a really high PR. What would be a fair price for a text link on their homepage. Another example: http://www.puppysites.com/ ranks on the first page in G for keyword, 'puppy' very competitive, but only a PR4 How much would I link go for on this site? How about this site:http://www.terrific-cats.com/ It ranks on their first page in G for the extremely keyword, 'cats', yet only has a PR4 so this popular link price calculator tool (http://www.seochat.com/seo-tools/link-price/) says a link on their homepage is only worth about $40! For a site that ranks in the first page in G for a keyword that gets over 2 million searches a month, $40 a month for a link is very low....right? All suggestions are welcome, please contribute...
I suggest the price elasticity of demand approach. Let the market determine the price of the link. Auction one link off. The winning bid will represent the market value for the given type of link. Sell the rest for that much or slightly less.
Sell it based on traffic, not PR. If I recall corectly TLA's give you the option to let the buyers know how many traffic the sites you sell links on are receiving.
You can use: http://www.text-link-ads.com/link_calculator.php It's not a 100% accurate but you can get an idea about the price.
that depents on what you expect from the link. traffic, page rank. if you are expecting page rank, you must check outgoing going link number and pr. if you are expecting traffic, you must take care visitor count or alexa rank or the position that your link will stay i think these are the criterias which effects the price of the links
This one is nothing more than a PageRank whore like the rest of the so called "Price Link Calculators"
