I can add 18 backlinks to my site which are all PR8. But they are all under the same domain name. I have heard that having backlinks from the same domains increase in SERP. So can I rank #1 in Google with 18 PR8 backlinks under the same domain ? Tnx in advance.
Possibly. PR isnt important in SERPs, the most important part is relevancy. You'll have a PR7+ but who knows how you'll rank.
same domain almost 99% of the time equals same ip address and when more than one link is on the same ip address, It doesnt count for much... or even anything sometimes
relevancy is something that is "relevant" or similar to your site. So say your site is about baseball, if you got links from another baseball site, it would count more than if you got it from a medical site or some other unrelated category
Only google knows , but as we think about its basics (citation) - would you think a thesis that is only referred by a professor (pr8) as an authority , I guess it would not but it is valuable add some more links.
Relevancy or Quality of the links .... basically means that if the PR8 website is based on the subject of Cars and your website is based on the subject of Cars then the PR8 links will give you a boost in the SERPs and with PR.... But if your website is based on the subject of say Flowers then the PR8 links wouldn't help you at all in the SERPs...... Bottom line - To get the most out of links you need to get links based on the same subject as your website. Cheers .... Gerald.
Depends on a ton of factors. The links usually need to "age" for a while to give any boost in Google, depending on the trust/PR of the site it's linking to. If those are the only links to the site, also might appear unnatural to G. BTW, how many sites out there have 18 sub-pages that are PR8? Not very many, at all. Or do you mean that the homepage is PR8, and you can get links from sub-pages? Anyways, the links should provide a nice boost in rankings, but depends on the current state of both sites really. Diversifying link-building strategies is always good. Make the content as good as you can. It's very hard to replicate real, authentic link-building patterns. The short-term SEO strategy definitely came back to bite me in the ass.
I agree 100%. I've had sites with only a few low, if any, PR backlinks rank #1 for their keywords on Google and Yahoo.
All I understand is that my site's topic should be the same as that of the site which is linking me. Now if my site is "photo or image" related and the 30 one-way PR8 (all the 30 pages are PR8) backlinks I am getting is also a "photo or image" site, then I can expect my site to rank in the first SERP in Google ? Also what will be the keywords that people will search Google to get my site on the first result page ? How can I set keywords for my site. Where to put the keywords ? Tnx in advance.
too many backlinks from same domain do not count as high as same number of backlinks from different sites.
no one can tell you if the links are going to push you all the way to number 1. But getting all these links from the same domain is certainly going to devalue the links somewhat... link sales....how do you know that his site is going to be a PR7? Seems like you got the whole Pagerank formula figured out without calculating other outbound links on his site and outbounds links on the linking pages...
Write normal we aren't blind And if the site isn't relevant (same niche s your site) it will help only at PR + it depends on the keyphrase If it's very popular i doubt it will get a very high ranking
I bet your site will get your desired outcome(as rank #1) if you will follow all the above mentioned..one thing more, choose the best keywords.. good luck!
