iTrader 101 - Part I

Yes all deal should be done in B/S/T section only. On other section you can exchange Reps only.

 

Great explanation - what do I do if someone I rated doesn't rate me back? I've reminded them twice but still nothing - however I've seen them rate other people as recent as today! Can I change my rating for them or do I leave it?

Edit: Nevermind, this person finally rated me back - but left a rude comment towards me instead of comments regarding the trade. I think that is highly unprofessional and unfair to any user, especially one as new to the forum as myself! Oh well, I guess it's just one of those days.

 

Giving an iTrader is not required in any member in any deal. You can do nothing if they don't reciprocate your iTrader.

If you want to make sure that you exchange iTraders, ask him to leave you an iTrader first then give him an iTrader only if he gives you one.

Ah okay, thanks Joe. I'm still new to everything - like recently I got some infractions due to "posts of no value", which frustrates me because unless we post in a topic, we can't use it as a Deal URL - but if we have nothing to say except "ok will pm you about it", we can't post that because it'll be considered a post of no value. Seems like a paradox to me!

 

Actually, this is a misconception about the eligibility of a member to give and receive an iTrader in a particular thread...

Reply isn't the sign of participation. You can reply in a deal thread but not participate and you can participate in a deal thread without a reply (through PM). iTrader requires only 2 things:

1. The presence of a deal thread.
2. A deal between 2 parties occurred and was closed.

***the thread opener is the only one who can exchange iTrader with other participants, deals between participants other than the OP is not qualified for iTrader. To illustrate:

Member A: Thread Opener
Member B: Participant (Replies in thread)
Member C: Participant (Deals through PM, No reply in deal thread)

Member A & Member B
Qualified for iTrader: YES

Member A & Member C
Qualified for iTrader: YES

Member B & Member C
Qualified for iTrader: NO

Ahhh okay. Thanks Joe, that was very useful. Like I said, I'm a newbie so the infractions were a BIG shock (I understand why I got them, but to get them all at the same time was just something else, all that red red red!). I'll be sure to behave from now on.

I have a question: what is required to leave negative or neutral itrader? If no money was actually exchanged but someone backed out of a deal after they said they were going to send money/goods can I leave it then, or does that not qualify?

Well, it's the least you can do as mods do not fix disputes between members. But be ware as he might also give you a negative iTrader.

A buyer appraoched me via PM, and all our dealings have been through PMs without any thread. How do I go about giving itrader? Do I or the buyer have to start a thread, or can we cite just the PMs?

Nobody is answering my thread about iTrader, so I guess I'll ask it here:

Can you exchange iTrader for a review copy of an e-book or service?

Basically what happens is, the seller gives the reviewer a copy of the e-book free of charge, in return for a review on the sellers thread. So basically it's a trade, but no money is involved in the exchange.
