Rob, your welcome to have the content and even the template that I used if you would like...

I really have no use for it at this point exception for frustration...

Oh my... why do forums still get posts like these once in a while.

Read, read and re-read. If you're asking for affiliate programs, most likely you'll get spammed with a ton of programs with referral links.

If you're really new, go read up more. There are TONS of affiliate programs out there, and its impossible to recommend any since I don't even know what you're doing. CPS, CPS, CPL?

Rob: Same problem with LazyD, most of my clicks come from Search. And at $3 a click I can't afford to keep this up for long :p But yeah, I'll explore the placement report.

I have heard that it is a gem, but I haven really gotten my ass to running it, as Content accounts for probably 5% of my clicks as this moment. But I might do it one day if I decide to test the competitive niches again (mortgage, loan, credit card, ringtones)

Rob - fantastic thread! I was going to ask if you did any site exclusions or targetting when I read the first pages, but then I decided to read the whole thread. Glad I did, because my question was answered.

Let us know how the results turn out now that your identifying specific sites. Thanks again!

Several years ago, I netted over $20,000 in one month WITHOUT any real PPC tracking. That is why my income from those 3 campaigns dropped to ZERO when I "Assumed" they would go on forever. It is all about tracking and testing and I applaud you for sharing your information!!!

After jumping back in the PPC game, thinking I could just easily do it again, I lost over $2000 in 1 week! I have begun to rebuild my income SLOWLY, one keyword, one adgroup and one campaign at a time.

I have been testing those PPC Spy with minimal success. The only real success I have had is in taking the time to do the research for niches and then tracking and testing daily. I have purchased almost all of the PPC spy tools (Undercover Profits, Google Cash Detective, AdspyPro,etc) GCD looks the best so far. Tracking has always been an issue as most merchants wont allow tracking code on their purchase page. I did try several of the new tracking tools including Xtreme Conversions and the newest on the block. Check out the link in my sig for a great free report about the spy tools and tracking. No, this is not my product, but I will try to make money with it when it is released!!!

I remember those days, just throw up an ad on google and rake in the money. LOL, those days are long gone (for me anyway). Now I track everything that can be tracked. I'm thinking about making something like the extreme conversions software, but much simpler.

<-- I have Xtreme Conversions. My honest opinion? It's real complicated to track. Although you can track, if you're having a tons of offers/adgroups, matching the subids up with leads/sales can be a real pain in the *ahem*

Looking forward to the release of Speed PPC & Affiliate Radar in about 2 weeks. Speed PPC looks absolutely PHENOMENAL!

Well basically its a software that does PPC ads for you in 'warp speed'. In its video sneak preview, it churned out a True.com campaign with 8720 highly targeted keywords, in 436 tightly grouped ads, targeting every major US city/state, and created a unique landing page for EACH keyword, and posted it up on Adwords.....

    All in 12 minutes.

Yes, it sounds unbelievable... But i have a mentor using this program for beta testing. And it's working the way it claims it does.

Not to mention, it's highly customizable as well. :D

Just looked it up and apparently it's coming out in 10 days: speedppc.com
Looking at the video, they basically used all major US city names to get the long list of different adgroups & keywords. Which indeed works OK as I've done this for a few of my own Adwords campaigns using automated software. It currently gives you an advantage over some other competitors, but I'm not sure though what the impact will be if this software gets over-hyped and everyone starts doing it.

while you have made some money within 20 minutes, I think it would be better if you can increase the CTR. It could mean that your ads is not highly targeted. But if your CTR is above 10%, you can be sure that your cpc is lowered but yet the position is improved. In short, you are paying less cpc but your ads rank higher than your competitors and you get good quality traffic which will turn into sales eventually.

Thomashoi... if you're been even reading through this thread in detail you'll know that most of the impressions are coming from the CONTENT network. I'd say 0.18% from the content network is pretty darn good.

    erm... like DUH....

oops! I'm sorry. I think this strategy is worse than search network and will lose a ton of money in the long term because traffic from content network is never targeted and most fraud happens at content network, e.g those Adsense Arbitrage sites.

I will never recommend people to use content network for affiliate marketing unless you got tons of money to waste.

I use keywords analyzer. I have a short write up in my sig, with links to screen shots and videos. I've been using it for 2 years now, and can tell you that Chris does an excellent job. He's constantly updating it to adjust to googles changes. Sometimes 2 or 3 times in a month.

He recently added msn ppc research as well. It's been a vital tool for me over the years and created the seed list I used to make the campaign I'm outlining in this thread.

Content network is not for everyone. But if you follow the posts in this thread, you'll see I've made good money from it. Recently I began excluding sites from the content network, as posted above. It's working wonders for me. Not because I'm finding junk sites, but because I'm eliminating non related sites to better target my exposure. Again, read the previous posts for details.

Also, I don't believe all adsense arbitrage sites are fraud. Many of them do provide good quality content. It's just not a model that google wants to support anymore.

you have to be very careful as an affiliate trying to compete with budgets of companies who receive a much larger percent profit that the typical affiliate 10%.

Go longtail. Find new markets. Trying to compete with multiple dollars per click will likely result in failure. Just my 2 cents.
