For sites forums blogs SERPS Directorys are the only one where PR is very important Elsewhere PR means nothing then a number
In my opinion PR is better than low ranked SERP. Its again better than high ranked SERPs for non-popular keywords.
Short, clear and very true I see some high PR directories with extremely low traffic and missing in SERPS. Wonder how submitters find it? Whatever I'm happy with my PR and have higher rank than big GOOGLE on 'submit link' (no.3) !!!
i voted for PR. caz without PR a directory has no Value. no matter how Beautiful your Design & look. Ppl will not submit thats much. But with a ugly Design, if you have PR7, people will jump and submit. i saw lots happens these days. So lets say 75% ppl care about PR. and 20% ppl look for unique Design and quality of the directory. but hey u got nice templete, good luck.
Returning to one of the earlier questions, i have not promoted this site myself in quite a few months, i haven't even had a signature link. The stats however show (and im basing this on last months complete data) approximately: 1391 Uniques 14043 Hits People are visiting Business, Paid Directories, Financial Services, Sports and Health the most. As for the visitors coming from search engines... its about 100-200 uniques a month. Now based on the other traffic (coming from forums and also directory critic and info.vilesilencer) i would think people are obviously finding the site and then are being put off from buying due to the low pagerank (as a theory), hence as previously mentioned paid submissions are minimal (where as reciprical submissions are quite high based on the lack of current advertising). Ultimately PR and SERPs go hand in hand and ideally id prefer a balance of the two. Its often been the case for companies where they drop out of google SERPs and have to close down because their primary source of income was through sales from Google SERPs (hence Google can make or break a company when we're not talking directory specific). Essentially ive got a directory with good SERPs, i just need to wack up the PR to get a decent number of conversions!
Exactly -- you have excellent SERPs - but as there is not enough PR - you can not generate revenue from it. This proves that- PR is the most important factory for revenue from directories. Please note that I am not talking about other sites - I am talking only about directories. Yes- very much true --I mentioned about this in one of my earlier post. Perfect strategy. Best of luck. May PR algo luv ya
Are you talking about your directory or some other sites? We are talking about directories here. If you are also talking about directories - I would be highly glad to know your human visitors from SEs and their conversion rate.
PR and SERPs both are equally important IMO. Though many people only look into PR stuff when buying links
I think the most important thing is the quality and the content of a directory. If a website has quality content, and good backlinks, it will rank well in SERPS. It is worth nothing to have PR but to be nowhere in SERPS. There are thousand websites on the internet having good PR but their content is poor. Does it mean they are important? Surely, no. PR is only good when buying or selling links. PR is only a business...
For a directory PR is definitely more important than SERPs. But if you have a site, then its the opposite IMO. For a website, you'd rather want good SERPs to bring targeted traffic, whereas with a directory, high PR can get you more traffic
Perfect understanding of the TRUTH. Have PR for your directories and webmasters will come to you. Have great --quality contents on your business/adsense related websites --traffic will come to you. Except few quality directories --how many directories are there to provide quality leads to websites? One can find only empty categories --and IMHO-- if I am a normal surfer --looking for some information -Google it and find only directory --sub-pages with empty categories - I would be irritated and would curse those sites taking up spaces. So directories are totally different from other websites. SERPs is the BOSS of all for any other site as that will give them more revenue. But webmasters don't Google for directories. To illustrate further my points -- Please Google for the term Web Directory-- Check www.maxlinks.org (#4) and www.danielmillions.com (#13) --- Check both the directories with Visual Pagerank for Inner-page PRs. Then check the LATEST page -- which directory is doing great business and which is not. For directories -- it is definitely PR -- that is most important.
