In Sim City 3000, planting trees helped with air pollution. I'm sure the ratio of trees planted to lower pollution probably wouldn't be the same, but does planting trees help with air pollution? If so, that would really help my area because I am from the concrete jungle and since most of the buildings have to be torn down, if they planted trees (where the buildings used to be) maybe that would help with the massive amount of pollution the steel mills dump into our local environment.

Not really - while they do filter the air, they also give off "smog" as well. And, another problem is; is that when a tree dies the amount of carbon dioxide the decaying matter gives off is greater than the amount it ever took in during life. Plus the emissions from the leaves that fall off, etc. So, in the long run, you don't get a lot from them.

My solution is to call up Sharper Image, and have them build 50 story tall ionic air purifiers. If they can get smoke out and dog odor of a house, surely they can get smog out of a city

It seems to me a lot of people are ignoring multiple congressional hearings about global warming being snowed out, Cleveland baseball games are snowed out in April, and snow in South Africa for the first time in decades and this happened for the first time in 80 some years in Buenos Aires this week:

Both "OMG its cold somewhere global warming is fake" and the "OMG its hot somewhere , global warming we are going to die" are both not very good or logical arguements
