Great guide! I've been using it for a while. I'm getting 50-100 clicks a day with a 10.10% CTR

but my eCPM stays around $2.00 give or take a couple dimes.

I'm using the ad filter and a list generated from adsblacklist.. I could really use some tips on increasing my click payout. this $0.02 a click is kinda frustrating.

any advice?

Well, I have about 50 videos embedded(not branded) so I've started using stumblexchange for promotion, I've stumbled about 50 sites, but didn't noticed any change. So I've decided to get some branded videos, and I've done two of them, one of them I've uploaded to youtube the other at metacafe, but all I got was 6 visits the same day from metacafe(and one click 0.04$ WOW) and about 10 visits from youtube(and got two clicks which made 0.01$ both of them) So I'm kind of dissapointed by this, since I've did a lot of customizing and playing around to make my site look good and so.. So I guess I will try branding some more videos and uploading, maybe that wasn't my lucky day, but I fell kind of wrong doing that, because as I can see there aren't any duplicates from many of the videos I found on metacafe. Can you guys post some success stories to cheer me up and motivate me please?

 

I've tried this strategy with 3 different niches and it doesn't work. I could have told you from the beginning but I just wanted to give it a try. Why it does not work? You don't have any original content and there are a lot of identical website build this way (competition is very high).
This only works for someone who is able to make some original videos, or for someone who is very lucky.

perhaps your are doing something wrong..

or perhaps you are just promoting your "non competitive niche"

 

speaking of video blogs, has anyone found a way to make money with youtube?

 

what's your definition of "fine"... two cents per click, like the guy a few posts up? how long has your blog been up? it can take weeks for smart pricing to kick in.

some of you will find this quote on youtube scraping interesting, as posted by the "adsenseadvisor":

danimal, what about music videos? Can I put adsense on a site embedded with music videos from youtube? I mean music videos that are already uploaded on youtube and are legally there?

If there were at least 50-100$ per month to be made, I could say I could get satisfied, but with 0.01$ from 2 clicks I can't get nowhere. Also there seems to be another problem with uploading duplicates. What about the following comments:

This was the first comment I got when I posted my first video at metacafe. Although it wasn't the exact duplicate, because I've downloaded it from google and mine was shorter than the original, but anyway..

Hmm this just doesn't seem right if you do not own the original videos. Since I already have my site set up and working, I must think of another way of promoting it, there must be a way even for 50$ a month, any ideas anyone?

 

if you read all of this thread, you'll see proof that youtube scraping breaks both youtube and adsense tos's, and that google does not put adsense blocks on youtube pages that have embedded youtube clips.

so google itself is careful to not break copyright laws on youtube.com, but in my opinion, they don't care if adsense publishers break the copyright laws, and violate all the relevant tos's... because it's the publishers who are at the greatest risk of getting sued when the vids are on their sites, not google.

google covered their asses legally, with the tos's.

music videos would be a niche, and using a niche with plenty of advertisers in it is a lot smarter than creating a generic video site, as nicuz pointed out.

without unique and valuable niche content, youtube scraping sites are mfa's in disguise... they are all ending up in the google supplemental index, because they are junk sites with a limited lifespan, and everybody is doing it these days.

$1,000 a month with an mfa junk site? i think that a two cent epc is being optimistic... why would any serious advertiser with a product to sell, want to advertise on youtube scraping site?

 

Isnt youtube itself a big scrape of illegally uploaded media anyway? Whats your point?

where did you guys download the videos?

it doesnt make any sense if you download a video from metacafe and reupload back to metacafe after you rebrand it.

 

I was also a lil confused about this. I mean no copywrite, means no copywrite i guess... that or you take it from one and give it to another

Great post but I'm not too comfortable with the idea of editing another persons work, I know I'd be very irritated if it happened to a video I created!

 

Hmm....My CTR on my blog is very bad. I'm also getting 1 cent click alot of the time!

 

I have about 7-8 branded videos most of them uploaded at youtube, but no traffic at all to my vblog. Any tips on how to get traffic to the videos at youtube or metacafe?
