Ask the owner of the Greek letter domain Δ.com (xn--pxa.com, registered in 2001) what he would sell that domain for. It can be typed in with a Greek keyboard and, I am sure it gets traffic. My dot nets even get traffic. It is VERY brandable. Just like having D.com in English.

Greek domains get traffic and clicks, so there is a 'need' out there. However, this domain is a symbol domain. I have a few, and they are just plain fun to own. Domains like ♀♀.com and 1¢.com are purely collectibles and cannot be compared to keyboard characters like ā.com, ɛ.com, and η.net.

Domains that cannot be typed in are only vanity domains. The value of symbol domains is similar to the value of baseball cards. What will the market bear?

Thanks for the feedback, but as someone said on another forum, this is a mathematical symbol. This domain is not the Delta character, but identical to it.

    I also own www.∇.net

PM if interested in these domains

    thanks

Very cute domain. As you can see, I am also a collector. Those domains do sell on Ebay. Unfortunately, Ebay is full of bargain hunters. You won't get top dollar. Keep it on your mantle. It may come in handy. I get traffic and PPC revenue to my symbol domains. It is only a matter of time before you will know if it is worth keeping. Maybe two years?

Most (if not all) good single letter or good single character domains are long gone. Some are available, but not in dot com. Check out the different character sets at http://unicode.org/ or just try a few and see what is open. Remember that is should be a keyboard character/letter in some language if you want to see any traffic. If you are just looking for a fun domain to own, just try it. Search at DD http://www.dynadot.com/domain/search2.html to check for availability of multiple extensions and register it where you like.

    Awesome domain! I love uniqueness!

It would also be really fun to market. If people knew how to get the delta symbol it would be great!

I hope you do well from it :)

I have actually setup a site here using Joomla, but never completed it www.∆.net.

Also, this is not the Greek Delta, but an identical Symbol called "Increment"

The other domain ∇.net uses the Greek symbol called Nabla, which is an upside down Delta symbol.

Hope that wasn't too confusing, lol

The actual Greek letters like Delta, Eta, etc. are on the Greek keyboard. The intent is to use them as brandable sites like a single letter ASCII domain would be. Can you imagine the worth of d dot com or even z dot com for a company like Delta or Zenith? Anyway, they are either found on the keyboard of your intended audience, copy/pasted from something, hyperlinked, or the xn dash dash punycode is typed in.

I only have a few single (keyboard) letter domains (Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, and others) and they do get a lot of traffic. Not sure why. It is hard to monetize.

If your surfers cannot type it in, you have to expect very low traffic and revenue. But, yes, they are fun.
