All of my muslim friends say that islam is the only peacefull religion in the world, no other religion comes close to islam. What do you guys think , Let us discuss here Is islam the only peace full religion the world ? I am no muslim by the way
No, If you talk about really peaceful religion then its 'Jain'. Although Buddhism is not a true religion but it is the most peaceful way to live your life, No other religion come close to it.
How about "no religion". I am an atheist and I believe that by segregating power/politics and religion, there will be a higher chance of achieving peace in the world. Not that I have anything against any religion... It's just that too many politicians and nasty people use the name of religion to cover up their hidden/power-grabbing/evil agenda. I have dedicated a big section of my blog to talk about such articles. I don't know if that would work. People still need guidelines to follow, they need to know what's wrong and what's not. it might be obvious to you but not to everybody else. People would be left to to as they please and this could create civil wars everywhere.
As far as I understand, no religion is anti-peace. Almost every religion teaches peace. Other than peace if you want to find most perfect religion, you need to do some research on 3-4 largest religions to find one. Without study/research you cannot declare this is best and this is worst.
No, its not obvious to him as well. Being a human our thinking and mentality is developed according to the way we were brought-up, so one thing which is OK in one society might be not-OK in other. That is why we need some reference according to which we can judge our acts and religion provides that reference. Now problem is which religion to choose. I'd suggest spending 1 hour a day in studying and researching about religions .. I am pretty sure you will find the right path in less than a year.

I dont get my guidelines from religion, but I dont go around and kill and steal. Religion is not a guarantee for anything. There are a lot of killers and other criminal people that are christians or muslims. Civil wars has never been stopped because of religion. + civil wars or at least peoples wars against governments can be necessary some times.
