I'm new to the web development arena. My business partner and I are making sites with google adsense and affiliate links to generate revenue. My question is this: When it comes time to submit the sites to search engines, is it okay to do the free submission or do we need to go ahead and pay for submission? Will paying for submission make our pages rank higher? Does it make a difference? GoDaddy offers submission for $19.95/yr, it's called "Traffic Blazer". They really brag it up, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Thanks, Christine
It's completely not worth it. Its not another way to collect a few extra bucks. What I'd recommend doing is having someone this forum submit you to all the free directories. Then, pay someone to submit you to all the paid directories. Once that's done have you have your pages indexed, you need to look other endless possibilities of internet marketing. There are so many methods to market online. I'd start doing some digging in Google and maybe a few searches on here. Also, check out the Warrior Forum for other great tactics - www.warriorforum.com/forum/
Theres no such thing as submiting to search engines You submit to directorys or get backlinks and get naturaly crawled by SE
Stay away from these type of offers or anything that is automated. Just a tip, start with your signature link. Instead of using "our site" as your anchor text use something like "Custom Content Articles" or keywords you are targeting.
HI Cristine, for what it's worth I have just started to index your website into my New Zealand based search engine, our webspider has so far found some good results from your website as it is being crawled, regarding your question about paid or free inclusion into search engines, in most cases if a website has links pointing to it then most search engines will find it and then index it. Which is how most websites end up getting crawled, today we have indexed just over seventy new sites that we found links pointing to during the last few days, most new links are found by our webspider as it refreshes the sites we have listed already and the latest stuff just gets added to the just over two hundred million webpages we have indexed so far.
never use those services those are just scam, you pay them and they do nothing, Feel free to Pm me your Website and some informations and details about your project, and i'll tell you what to do to promote it / Build links without being cheated or scammed
Submit to SE just help you site get indexed, if you want to get high page rank, you may try to build some quality backlinks.
Hi Christine Welcome to the world of SEO BS. Both Google, Yahoo and MSN offer free submission links: Search Engines Submissions Google - http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl MSN Search - http://search.msn.com.sg/docs/submit.aspx Yahoo - https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit (you need a yahoo account). These links are active on 2007-07-12 But most important is a site map as described by the Google Webmaster Tools page https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/docs/en/about.html that will help you submit all your pages at a single time. The sitemap.xml or sitemap.xml.gz they speak about can be then submitted to the above URLs. Fast, easy and free. Also, if you have a 'friend' site, ask them to put your home page link on their home page for ~1 month. When that site is indexed by the SEs, your site will then be placed on the SE's list to be indexed. If you need help with this, contact me. ill advice you to submit first your site to free directories, if you want to boost your traffic by then, try to get listed to trusted directories. Sure it'll help your rankings and your traffic.
