I tried it last month and i was quite happy with the response i got. I paid 4 different users to have my link in their signature and i setup tracking on the 4 different links i used to see how much traffic i got, and in the end i received about 500 click throughs in 1 month from 4 different users, and i paid about $20 for that. 1 found that one of the users was banned though about 3 days before my 1 month deal ran out with him, so thats one thing you have to be careful with. -- Phil

It depends. If we are talking about active members - yes, it will drive quite a lot of traffic as tyzer already said. Sigs from members who post once in a while are not that great. But still that's a backlink to your site.
Few posts can go a long way IF they post on: popular threads some threads around DP have good PR.. and therefore posts on their have higher value. Another thing to watch is where the user posts.. if they're all from the GC then the quality of links are fairly poor.
Signature links can be a great source of traffic if you get them on relevant forums, and from users who are valued members of the community. High post count isn't enough IMO - they have to be good quality posts - a user who is respected in the community you're getting the links from is more likely to get clicks to his sig than a user who just posts junk.
I know I get great traffic from my sigs and some of the ones I bought have brought some traffic as well! Don't just buy any sig links, you need to research first!
I have kept my own websites in my signature and have been recieving traffic and sales from it. I have not tried using other peoples signatures because I am worried that the user would spam a lot or simply just give my company a bad name. But it seems to work for a lot of people so I may give it a shot.
You also need to look at the quality of posts being done of the poster that you're buying the sig links from. Beware of those trying to run up post count, and then later get banned.
I get hits almost every day from my own signature links in other forums. I would think it would be worthwhile. Kent
The simplest way to track the clicks from sig links is to have an analytics type program and check all of the referral links.
