Hi, I use firefox, netscape7 and 8, IE7, and opera. I use 2 ISPs to guarantee online availability so different proxies hence browsers are needed; and use different browsers cause each one is really good at something. Opera has a nice download manager I found more reliable. Firefox is fast and resource friendly, you can open more windows but takes sometimes much cpu power cause of flash or other client side animation, so I use flash blocker. IE7 works here with Java plugins better and is good at system stuff that needs IE like updates, also I use IE sometimes for sites that are not coded very correctly because IE can display site structure well enough sometimes even if it has little html errors. Netscape used for other ISP etc. Basically, they are all good and can be all used depending on purpose, one just need to customize it to his own feel and usage that brings him better control.
If I've said it 17 times, I'll say it once more...if it weren't for the 1. massive memory drain(s) and 2. countless 'unresponsive script errors' I'd switch back!
AOL and IE for 90% of everything else that AOL freezes up on and I'm stuck out in the sticks with dialup too as if AOL wasn't bad enough by iteself
It seems Firefox is the most used browser by the members of this forums. I would use IE but Firefox meets most of my needs. The only thing good about IE is that.... I can't seem to think of a good thing about IE.
do you have 8GB of RAM for the vista? IE7? 8everything still uses 6 I think, course now she's on the mac so NM!
I ALWAYS use Firefox for doing everything, but open up Internet Explorer every now and then so I can get security updates and see if my site is still multi browser.
Well up to about 2 days ago I would have vouched for IE7 being a decent browser but I have had it crash on me no less than 8 times in the past couple of days ( on 2 different PC's yet)...and of course right in the middle of me trying to get some actual work done. maybe IE7, like windows, grinds to a screeching halt and stops working after X # of months
