Does any 1 know any good sites to get freelance work from, and any british sites to get programmers/developers from Any help will suite me fine Thanks
Yeah, rentacoder.com is probably the most popular. It is free to setup, and there is a wide variety of projects. The problem is that you are competing with offshore programmers for a lot of the work. Therefore prices are pushed fairly low at least until you are able to establish your name there and gain a few regular clients that like your services.
GetACoder.com ScriptLance.com - Very Good GetAFreelancer.com - Used to be pretty good but is crowded with tons of spam project and fake coders with outrageous bids so watch out for them. Those are the three I use. ---Edit--- You might also want to check out: FreelanceDaddy.com they have reviews and details on several freelance websites.
As mentioned above, rentacoder is the best one out there, but it has some dis-advantages : Rentacoder charges a 15% commission and they have lots of procedures,so if ever you get into any dispute,it will take a week to 10 days to resolve, and they always favor the clients.....not the programmers..so if you are a client, you got an advantage. Second site is www.getacoder.com Third one is: getafreelancer.com And finally, these days a new site has come up and it charges only 5% commission and is very sleek and easy to use,the name is: www.project4hire.com I just love it.. Hope that helps.....
getafreelancer has nice features (that help freelancers) And is a huge site with many projects My recomandation 10+++
I use to use these sites what I find is that yes.. there are many flaws to their system and a lot of competition. It's best to establish your business and then market it... instead of using those sites But.. DP is a great place to find gigs, craigslist and sitepoint
We have used Guru.com but this is mainly because there is a greater number of people not wanting "offshore" type suppliers. Whilst we arent in the USA there are a lot of people who are happy with the UK even if it isnt the USA (after all, many americans think the UK is a small island off the coast of Florida )
I suggest you try some existing players not the new ones Go for guru.com, scriptlance.com, www.getafreelancer.com these are good ones, and i am already working there and got good response. At initial stage have a low fee rate, do anything to increase your clientage, once you proved your skill set, people will call you for projects. Is this real one? i can see some projects posted there, but it look like spam to me, as all the projects are posted by a single person. and only one buyer profile is there.
Thankz for sharing your sites. But I did't ever tried freelance sites. How are they ? Can I get more SEO Services from it ?
These websites are good enough to gain some good business. But one should remember only SKILL WINS. you can have a good clientage but only and only with quality services. You can offer SEO services to these websites, and have a paid account there. You'll get a plenty of projects daily basis. These websites; In the ring there is tough fight, lots of service provider fight for a project. but only a qualified ones wins the project.
It is worth remembering that only a small percentage of posts are ever awarded to anyone. Looking at our bidding stats on Guru only about 1 in 15 or so are awarded to anyone and of these we are winning about 1/3 but then we do limit ourselves in some regard by using .Net rather than PHP (but we dont want to offer our clients an inferior product )
I am having few staffs for doing SEO services from DP .And I am in a plan to expand my empire to freelancing sites too ! What about paid account ? How much really I need to spend ? And what is the benefit of it over free accounts ?
You post incomplete info about RentACoder. These programmers have been in at least 2 arbitrations and NEVER lost an arbitration to a buyer: Every Arbitration Won By Coder
I second this thought: clients are better than projects, because clients come back for more and projects end. You're in UK, Kelly, so this won't apply to you, but freelnacers in USA will want to look at FreelanceLocalTech.com, which is the anti-elance/guru/getacoder site, designed to help clients find LOCAL freelancers (which is what many clients want, someone to talk to face-to-face when they have a problem). Not many projects out there, but clients are coming to the site at about the same rate as new consultants and calling consultants directly (I got one of those calls from a client who saw my company's listing out there). It's all about making sure that potential clients know you exist and how to find you. Good luck!
