I created a site like 2 months ago and 6 days ago I completely changed the topic of my site and deleted all my old pages and wrote only 3 pages on this new site and two days ago my site appeared on the first place on msn/live search and it is a great and quite competitive keyword (and very well paid by AdSense ). Do you think my site will stay there or it will sink after a few days? I was a little surprised by how little people came from this search, if it showed on Google's first place I would probably retire after a month
Did you do any site submission or whatever to have MSN know your changes? I've added a new section more than a month ago on my site targeting some keywords, did some digg and stumble, and get into google first page for those words in a couple of weeks. However MSN/yahoo still has not got those in their search. ??
I had a similar situation. My site went right to the top with very little effort. It slowly slid back in the SERP's and has since risen and fallen for seemingly no reason. I have never gotten enough traffic from MSN, no matter where I rank, to make it worth spending time worrying on why I rank with them.
Where and what did you submit? I research everywhere and it seems MSN does not have sitemap submission yet. btw, I also have much more google and msn traffic. But I guess msn will be growing with vista. I recently bought a new computer with vista. Whenever I type something wrong in the url, msn will pop out from nowhere and show me a search result. I'd still treat microsoft with respect.
I don't know about the traffic from MSN. I rarely get traffic from MSN. Especially in other language (not english). How many ip from MSN per day, when your kw are #1. please tell me the details and the total competitor pages.
I think it may drop also, Same thing happened here, done no work on the site and recieved no1 for 4 main keywords (if in google at no1 i'd be a rich man ) then started working on the site trying to rank well andit got dropped from no1 - no35 or so strang world.
try to give strong back links as much as you can if you want to maintain your position on MSN. becoz sometime it happens like this but whenever MSN crawl your site and back links it puts down your position. Now your priority should be getting back links as much as you can... Best of Luck with MSN
I see the same results from Live search - none. I have a killer keyword listed on the #1 page of Live search for a guitar related keyword, and I only manage to pull in 1-2 people a day or less from it. If it was google, my host would crash.
diffcult to say with msn but with sites that have been there for a while they pretty much tend to stay there - this is from looking at the travel arena
MSN is not that reliable. Today you are up and next day you are down. Having this said and from your description I would say that your current situation is a bit of a random. Good luck and let us know what is going on further with your website.
