Several GOOD Traffic Methods

1) PPC Traffic

Pay-Per Click traffic with Google Adwords is good, short-term traffic but do not become over-reliant on this because it can be expensive and often organic traffic can be ignored.

2) Organic Traffic - Link Exchanges

Organic Traffic is the best form of traffic in my view. The best traffic is through Link Exchanges with other websites. A good resource to use is http://www.LinkMetro.com where you can exchange links with other websites. Targeted the links the more traffic you will get to your website and the better the chance of Google spidering your website for relevant keywords.

3) Writing Articles

Ezine Articles and Go Articles are great places to start exploring for good traffic. Google constantly indexes these websites - http://www.Ezinearticles.com, http:///www.Goarticles.com

Your article can be indexed in a matter of few days and you will start getting good quality traffic.

4) Social Bookmark websites

The first one that springs to mind is Stumbleupon. However, the traffic frmo stumbleupon is not targeted. Do not forget stumbleupon is a "channel surfing" website so people are just browsing rather then "staying" on your website. But having said that, it is still a good source for viral traffic.

Digg and Reddit.com - I think too many people n the past have become over reliant on these two websites. So I think in my personal opinion it is hard to be on the first page of Digg these days as there is far too much competition and Digg users are also becoming more intelligent.

Yahoo Answers! - This is an excellent resource to get traffic. It is indexed daily and you will have an excellent chance of getting people to come on your website (targeted traffic).

5) Word of mouth

The more people you tell about your website the more "viral" your site will go. Blogging, forums and telling your friends about this will help bring viral traffic.

6) Forum Signatures

Forum signatures can also help drive lots of laser targeted traffic to your website. The more active you are, the more people view your signature.

7) Press Release/Publicity

Imagine being on the front page of Google news under a popular keyword for your press release? Or a local newspaper writes an article about your site? Publicity like this can drive thousands and thousands of visitors to your website.

8) Offline Marketing

Brouchers, Banners and flyers can help drive traffic to your website. Only downside is that you have to get off your ass!!

Traffic exchanges work by a scratch my back, I scratch your back approach to allow multiple members to swap views or traffic with each other.

Basically you earn credits for looking at other peoples sites, and those credits each earn you a view to your websites. It's a simple process, but for it to work properly and to get results, you need to know the mind set of the other people using traffic exchanges (There are thousands).

They are all interested in one thing in particular.... more traffic. If you can play to that and use it to your advantage to build a list of subscribers rather than just send a bunch of people to a busy homepage then you will get somewhere.

I personally get hundreds of signups and sales each month, plus over a million views a month from traffic exchanges alone. I have seen great success in utilizing only joint ventures, affiliates, and traffic exchange traffic in my marketing.

SEO, PPC, directories, articles, blogs,forums, and web 2.0 tactics, play a part in my traffic and marketing too. But very little compared to just the advertising I do in traffic exchanges alone.

The type of traffic exchange that you want to use is a manual traffic exchange, and the ones you want to steer clear of are auto traffic exchanges.

 

In the social bookmarking part you can add Delicious, which is a great source of traffic too.
