The weight isn't too bad, but I rarely take it with me so Its not an issue. I would have never thougth the classic themes hurt performance. I will switch it back to the default and see how it works now. Thanks!

I don't think the processor speed has as much to do with Vista performance as the memory does. Whenever I hear of people complaining about Vista, theyre always running it on 1gig RAM and a single core processor. This machine is running fast and I have had no complaints yet.

The built in wifi is awesome. Im not even sure if I need to pay for internet anymore (kidding).

The Core Duo is still a very good class of processors. Generally there about 20% slower than their Core 2 Duo cousins running at the same clock speed. Still, they're a modern CPU and they're competitive with Athlon 64 X2 and Core 2 Duos. They definitely smoke Pentium D and below.

And yeah, Sullmoney, Vista runs great is you've got a dual core machine and 2GB of ram. That's what I have (Core 2 Duo E6420 @ 2.12Ghz, 2GB of DDR2 667MHz) and Vista runs great. Looks great too on my widescreen 19 inch LCD monitor ;)

I still prefer my desktop though - opening the cabinet is so much easier, and somehow i need to do it every month for one reason or the other :p

Personally I've drifting over to notebooks more and more, as they offer more flexibility.

    Currently I've got a HP Pavilion dv6300

    Very happy with it :)

Looks good. You should have posted a photo of it with DP on the screen. I wanted to check out if it goes well together... :D

I have Toshiba Satellite A100 since I joined DP and so far have had no any problems with it. I would go for Toshiba next time even tough I like the new HP Pavillion laptops. :)
