Do you know if any one had a blog about his?

Question on Yahoo Domains - Renewal Codes, Transfer out.

I have about 150 or so domains with Yahoo.
Mostly took them when they were $1.99 etc.

now they want $9.99 for a Renewal.
    1) Need to find Renewal codes!
    2) if I can't find them I would like to transfer out save $3.00 each/year

    Any help is appreciated.

When you say "Renewal codes", do you mean the "authorization codes"? If so, you simply go to Yahoo and login to your business account, go to the "domain control panel" link for each domain, and then on the resulting page where you can edit your information, just go down to the bottom where you'll find a link for the "View Your Authorization Code" for that domain.

I am transferring out all my domains from Yahoo! to GoDaddy now. Though it seems cumbersome. I read Yahoo's instruction to transfer out domains names to a tee and the online support person indicated that their direction works, just that it's not foolproof (no guarantees the transfer will work as outlined). I am not kidding. Here's the link for the posted information: LINKY

Now, when you read through the information, you'll see that in Step 4, you must obtain your auth. code. Then in step 5, you contact your new registrar to begin the process (using the auth. code). Then in step 6 after receiving the email Yahoo claims they send, you must cancel your plan.

Well, the tech support person indicated that it's better to cancel your plan first, then that releases your domain from the reseller pool (from Yahoo, I presume), then Melbourne IT takes it from there to give you auth. codes. Else if you don't, following those directions doesn't guarantee that your domains will transfer (I am not kidding, the support person told me this point blank).

And, if you don't cancel your plan, they have a right to charge you for another year, without notice, one month ahead of the expiration date. They threw that in my face without me even asking.

Anyway, it's the fourth day now and no confirmation from Yahoo or Melbourne IT. GoDaddy has done there job thus far and, now, I'm just waiting for confirmation from Yahoo or Melbourne (though the support person at Yahoo was adamantly clear that they take no responsibility for the domain name transfers whatsoever and that part is Melbourne, even though Yahoo will happily charge your credit card without notice -- not me saying this, the Yahoo rep).

I'm hoping all will go well. Not to be negative, but I'm only transferring about a dozen names. I'd get right on it if you're transferring hundreds. But get your auth codes right away. Maybe put them in an Excel spreadsheet and print them out too. Off one character, and you might be toast.

Of course, I'm hoping this was what you were asking about... authorization codes. If not, I hope this helps someone else. ;)
