I'm curious to know how other directory owners refer to the field in which we all operate. I have seen the 3 in the poll mentioned a few times around the forum in various discussions and would like to find out which is the most popular among the owners.

    your statement makes me laugh!

How do you classify it as sector and then as industry?

Imagine the directory market, directory sector, directory industry without Google and then answer me!

Upto now we are here only due to Google if there is no Google what we would do with these directories? would any body submit to a directory that does n't help you?

    I read the thread entirely

are you sure that a directory can't prosper without Google

that means put no follow on your all links and then see!

No body will come to submit to your directory!

You may say that directories can't prosper without Google ?

But tell me how many webmasters are willing to buy a link on a directory for

    purely other purposes (Traffic)?

Only very few less than 1% ! In my opinion directories will be there until Google is there !Only a few will stand out like

(Dmoz,Business.com ) and they would withstand anything!

To make a directory standout from others either it should follow Dmoz or Business.com model !

It would be very difficult for a directory to give traffic to the visitors until it has something unique or it has established long ago!

Bona fide business will prosper in any given market place, if all the basic tenets of running a business are in place

We run businesses that will endure and prosper and condition in line with market conditions and parameters

That will be the enduring end product with or without G
