Report: War costing US $12B a month
WASHINGTON - The boost in troop levels in Iraq has increased the cost of war there and in Afghanistan to $12 billion a month, and the total for Iraq alone is nearing a half-trillion dollars, congressional analysts say. ...........
    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070709/ap_on_go_co/us_iraq_costs

If I had the power to chose a job with unlimited powers I would chose to be a fireman for 3 months. I'll do it for free. I will work hard. I would be very busy firing senators, pesidents etc.. All those who put us in this big mess Iraq will be fired. I won't spare cons, dems, or independents. This will be my service to America where I would take nothing in return.

(My second job will be builder. I don't have time to tell you what I am gonna build, but millions will benefit from it....)

Well as I ain't a Democrat or Terrorist Supporter that is a bit of a moot point d16man.

Just because people do not support this bullshit war does not mean they are terrorist supporters, GFox has fried your brain to such an extent these days I feel sorry for you. :(

i would like to know how they work out the costs?
i mean if the troops are sat on their butts at home, they still have to be paid, right?
the ships are already paid for right?
the planes are paid for right?
you are sat on the biggest gas tank on the planet, so the gas must be free, right?
you telling me that they are using $12 billion in bombs a month for a war that ended already?

It's because you actually support terrorists that you are called a supporter, last week you claimed Briton was blowing itself up with car bombs, whilst maintaining the terrorists are innocent, if that's not being a terrorist supporter i don't know what is & you do it every time a terrorist attack is done or foiled. Claiming terrorists are innocent is way different from not supporting the war in Iraq;)

You are missing too much here.

I'll show you a bit where.

You have to pay for ammo. (There is much more ammo spent on training than in combat.)
You have to pay high medical bills.
There are about 30,000 soldiers seriously injured from the war. The government must pay compensation plus medical insurance for life to those soldiers.

You have to replace destroyed hardware:

Plus there are much more expenses that the Pentagon knows about and we don't.

In 2003 the pentagon was spending about 5bln in Iraq and Afganistan.

The Pentagon is spending nearly $5 billion per month in Iraq and Afghanistan,.....

    Now $12bln.

I don't care about our army we are next to a more powerful country which means they will be more targeted than us and even if we were to be attacked the americans would save us but I am not sure why.

Apparently you know more than I do.

    ".........a war that ended already?.........."

Did it? Did i miss the breaking news?

Now all you have to do is prove to everyone here that US is fighting in Iraq for free. Since it doesn't really matter if the troops are "sat on their butts at home" or in Iraq. Should be quite easy for you. I am all ears.

I would say that's more of a conservative mind (replace karl marx shrine with Enron shrine) :)
I havent seen much conservatives with a good sense of humor, nor common sense, nor big moral responsibility...
But at the end, it all depends on a good education.

That's another point why they need this war. Just a version.
