I got kicked from Digg in the last week. They have disabled my account. This was just after digging around 50 links from this site. Obviously someone has reported me, because i copyed and pasted every single link - I never clicked a link. So here is a warning to all, DO NOT POST DIGG OFFERS OR RISK GETTING BANNED FROM DIGG! This is a warning, you can still post digg posts if you wish to get banned from digg. ROb Edit: im not saying digg is crap, i am saying don't cheat, or risk getting banned. It is hard to evade a ban... believe me.
I think Digg put something in place to make sure that people aren't digging what they are told to digg. If you digg something too quickly you are marked. Such as - if you digg something immediately, you had no time to actually look at the content being dugg. It also works for buries too. At least this is what I read a month or so ago. And if you digg quickly enough times, I'm sure it results in a ban. A good move on Digg's part, IMHO. Digg still sucks, but it sucks just a tad less
Robert - I imagine a flag was raised against your account when they've deleted the obvious spammer and x% of your diggs were deleted with them. With genuine digging only a small % of diggs should go, with you perhaps it was as high as 25% (if you were using digg normally as well).
Think about it guys - if their systems identify that a stack of articles are being dugg by a small network of users who rarely digg other articles it doesn't matter how careful you are - they'll find you. They can google the article and see where it turns up, they have other users flagging the articles as "lame" or "spam" - and they will have their own internal algos to take it from there.
Try this (digg/stumble upon/whatever) When digging for someone do a bunch of legitimate digs also to create 'static' so their filter can really detect what you're doing. Anytime I stumble a site of mine (or from here) I always stumble a bunch of other sites first so they can't really tell what's going on. my 2 cents.
You know.. stumble does not seem to have so strict measures as digg does. And even though digg does NOT suck, it certainly can at times be bad .. so careful.. Thanks for the heads up guys
ouchs, even if one did move getting a new IP and redoing your mistakes is still not good. I would just abide by the rules ( though tuff ) you will be better off in the long run.
Digg does work wonders for some people... I mean, look at the amount of traffic it could drive to your site.. but.. alas.. you have to face the consequences at times!
This is already well known. It's in their TOS, they have people patrolling DP, etc. etc. Apparently it's a risk a lot of people are willing to take.
People patrolling DP? Is DP so famous on Digg that they need officials to patrol it? Wow.. DP sure has a name out there
I got banned a long time ago from doing this very sad thing, I can still view the site, just cant do anything a member can do. If you really want to do this, only leave your link in a pm, and try to have diff usernames on here and digg.
