I remember reading months ago that people were getting banned from YPN because they simply had to much internationally traffic? IS this true? or still true? I would like to try them out yet I do have a lot of international traffic so thats what is stopping me I guess.. Also what is considered internationally traffic thanks...
Yep thats rite .. Your account will be compromised if the 70% of the total visitors are not from US ..
Hi, I signed up for YPN some months back (May 2007) and they told me it was essential that I target US visitors. I was not approved for YPN. My letter said .. etc... Regarding that "OR" part. I wonder should I re apply? (sorry OT) Why do you say that? (just curious, not arguing) PS. would 51 percent be considered predominate?
They want around 70%+. All international clicks are discounted. So setup a script yourself that shows the ads to US visitors and then something else to non-US visitors. That way they won't be mad and you can make more money by showing different ads to non-US.
its about time YPN got out of beta and accepted Uk and other countries. They would make so much more money, and everyone would be happy. I hear it is much better than adsense, but i cant try it because im in the UK
"I hear it is much better than adsense, but i cant try it because im in the UK" Eh... It is better for some sites of course, others not so much. It really depends on your visitors and the ads YPN decides to display. Their ad-targeting still isn't all that great. As for making more money if they go international, probably not ATM. Some advertisers would have to totally change their attitude towards YPN. Right now, some are advertising walk-ins and not internet deals. Why would someone in NYC want to display an ad in London if he wants the person who sees the ad to walk-in his store and buy something? Maybe once their own geo-targeting gets fixed it will be better. However, like everything Yahoo, I bet it will be a while.
I am not sure if thats official from Yahoo... but I agree. YPN has been in beta for ages and isnt showing a sign of coming out any time soon.
No thats not official from yahoo. Although I emailed the UK branch of yahoo an they sounded like they have no idea when YPN comes to UK
I dont know why yahoo isnt in a hurry to go international? They are currently missing out on an enormous and rapidly growing market of internet users.
Thats hat I thought. I think that they think they are better off with a small amount of loyal customers. Or they are seriously behing on work.
