We are nothing without electricity!

and it's true! I recently had a power outage and I soon realized that meant no heating/cooling, no tv, no computer, no modern, no phone, no lights, no fridge, no alarm, no cd player and the list goes on...

Then I thought to myself imagine if we ran out of all this non-renewable energy? What are we going to do? This is a serious problem that faces us and imagine when we're older and we don't have enough power to charge a laptop? Some thing needs to be done!

    Opinions/Thoughts? :)

lol... without electricity I'd be bored to death :p

I don't think this problem will be within our lifetime (let's hope not) time to support scientists looking for alt energy :p we can use uranium to power our laptops!! lol jk

Electricity is essential. Unfortunately, in summers we experience power outages (more demand, less supply) often and its pain in the neck. No computers, no business.. nothing..

That is true. A huge typhoon last year knocked out our electricity for almost a week. Thats the worst week of my life! Proves just how important electricity is to my life.

I usually just light a candle and read a book. 20 minutes later my eyes die. And back in the days people wrote books like war and peace under the candle light :(

For 99.9% of mankind's time on earth we didn't have electricity so I'm sure we'd adapt.

It may even be a good thing - families would become closer and people more sociable as they wouldn't spend all their time in front of a tv or computer!

I feel it, whenever the power goes out , it feels really missing something , ofcourse one can take to reading or just talking to family , friends , but in india doing anything indoors without the fan on is like being on a stove top.
SOmetimes i think , solar energy should be more used, the desert areas which are arid , devoid of any life and are really sunny can be used miles on to create solar stations, dont really know how feasible it will be though.

    without electricity ,we can't survive

When there is any power outage ,I would take any of my old books to study it to pass off.

But simply I am like a fish without water ,if there is no computer!

Now days I am trying to change myself!

    You talking about electricity?

I cannot live without the Internet for more than an hour. My alternative when I dont have electricity is games on my laptop...but that lasts for a couple of hours only :(..Then comes my cell phone but I don't want to waste the battery as I might miss some important calls. :(
