Do you think success is in the genes?

What I mean is do you think some people are just born to make a success of their lives?
I know two brothers. One has a successful business, where the other one is working shift work (not that there is anything wrong in that).
So do you thing some people just "have it" or do you believe anybody can really make ago of their lives?

Some people just want it more. I don't think it's genetic, but I do think a seed is planted at some point and once it starts sprouting it can't be ignored any longer.

It must be a different type of intelligence though :p as people who are smarts in calculus aren't in business :p and some successful business people... didn't even go to university

It's not in the genes. It depends on the person - how much dedication to be successful he has , how much work he wants to put in, how he handles certain stuff.
It's in the personality - that is built over the years for each and every person, not how they were born.

I always thought the brain was the great equalizer. If you didn't get the genes to be an athlete or a movie star you'll always have the brain to fall back on. Incredibly, some people are more than happy to piss it away.

I agree with Yankee, that hard work, some luck helps too, to many times I have had deals fall through for something that had nothing to do with business.

    Cheers:)

:p people usually correlate smart people with university? but they're extra smart (business people) since they make all of that $$ from scratch and without education ;)

yeah people do that but that's stupid if you ask me!
i think it's not possible to be successful without being smart.a successful person is the one who have made the right choices and people who make the right choices are smart!

No, then other species like shark would have been more successful than human beings. The ability to manipulate things matter a lot.
