Hey, I've just registered my first domain with the intention to resell, just to get my feet wet.

The site I registered was clean-credit.net

I don't really mind if it was just worth the reg fee, as it was really just kinda a tester, but I would like some opinions. Thanks! :)

Go to Parked.com and sign up there for an account. Make sure you put me (ChrisB72) as a referral and you get an additional 10% parking fees. Credit names like that can get between $1 and $5 a click.

Credit/Finance/Loan domains do very well! The RPC is outta sight, so park it now if you are not going to develop.

I think better than reg fee if it is developed. You won't know until the first year.

    Hi Hannah

If you are entering the domain name speculation business there are a couple of steps to take along the way. Learning what makes a domain name valuable and learning how to search for those names are vitally important. Based on your first purchase, it sounds as if you are going on name appeal and instinct. Name appeal is fine and many dollars can be gleaned by finding those appealing word combinations but other factors contribute to a domain names value and in some cases to a far greater extent.

In used domain names: Residual traffic, residual inbound links and page rankings are important to name a few. To get a real idea of what is available in used (dropped or deleted) domain names try some of the online search utilities such as this one: HERE . . . good luck.

Yes, precisely why it should be developed. No type-in traffic. However, once developed, it will easily pay for itself. Then you can move on.

When I first started registering domain names, I did so according to the business I was in. if its not selling on its own, you have some work to do.

    1. Develop good content
    2. Link to other pages
    3. Drive traffic
    4. Keep a record of traffic
    5. Resell

I'm I wrong about the above approached or should it be revised?
