Well, I had a spare time to watch a TV today, and was very surprised by this top week news stories. What do you think there was. Here you go:

    1) Terror in Britain (them car mines) , Al Qaeda

    2) ** ppl dead including US & British troops in Iraq, Al Qaeda

    3) Afghanistan, etc, (dont remember what happened there and if there was a word Al Qaeda)

    4) Pakistan Mosque (fighting)

If you notice not even a single "good" news, I thought they at least will say about Sochi win, nah, only Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, that ppl dead, these ppl dead. And that's the top week's news?? No, thanks.

That is what counts as news these days, thus the saying "If it bleeds, it leads." People want to see drama and violence, war and terror meet their requirements. Why else do you think people slow down to look at a car accident?

You really think that ppl around the world care that much on what happened in Pakistan? I dont think so, I think it's just "bought" media. There are a lot of events happened that are much more important than 20th blow up for the year in Iraq.

On the contrary, I watched the russian news channel, they also talked about all them (only about 5-7 minutes on all), that could be a "todays news", but the whole week just talk about blow ups???

Believe it or not on the "BBC World Channel" they put up world news, frustrating for some but that's the whole point of world news;)

Wait, maybe cos BBC's audience is mostly US & UK? and who's in all of them countries, these two!))) That would be a nice answer to fit.

I do believe that they put what they are interested in, regardless what happened in other continents ;) That's called "bought" media if you didnt know.

world news ? :) What a retarded world we are living in, umm, I have to choose where would I live, dammit, Middle East with Afghanistan & Pakistan.....nothing left, what would you choose, mate ?)))

    Good news?
Terrorism is bothering every sane mind (But ofcourse not yours). People in affected regions want to know about what is happening. Situation in Pakistan in blowing. Row is hardening between extremists and the security forces. But ofcourse you dont have a slightest interest what's happening there.

You want to live in your little 'Good' and 'Happy' world, careless of people being killed or terrorist plots around the world. For you everything is a conspiracy to get free oil, right?

Not quite, everyone should show the news from them locations, where they blow up each other everyday, but hey not 30 minutes and not in the programme called "top week's stories", it's more like "top middle east stories".

As I said, when switched over to a russian news channel, they showed all that too, but for 5-7 minutes, there are other news as well in the world, dont you think?

The only idea that came into my mind is that the whole 30 minutes it was "media vs muslims" , they probably are obsessed with muslims.

I want to live in a 'good' & 'bad' world, they just show 'bad' news and you probably want to live in a 'bad' world?

Actually the UK audience is from every part of the world & religion.

And if the audience was only british does that mean that we have to be ignorant & not know about whats going on in the world?

What I desire doesnt change the face of the world. I am a business man so my prime concern is my business. I dont live in UK or US but still these countries have the biggest impact on my business. So secured future of these countries and the citizens I deal with, is something I want. and I want to know everything that is happening there.

What are you talking about ?? I was saying they showed only blow ups and that stuff, I would be happy to see the news about US economy and all that what you said. But the whole week is just about blow ups ? - 30 minutes.

Thats what I am saying, why call it a World Channel, when they show Middle East ONLY. I figured, probably that channel is seen mostly by Asia, Middle East & Africa, possible?

Now we get down to the core issue once again. It's not about "good news" & "bad news" its about too much muslims being shown, showing exactly what they are doing, "it's the knowing" that drives some nuts!

no problems, captain :) I know what you care about, there are more troops now in Middle East than athletes ;) But hey, dont call it a world channel then.

Maybe its called a world channel cos it's broadcasted throughout the world rather than have world news.
