I have a general SEO question about something I have been thinking about for the past time. As most people know who run arcades, you can get game packs from the range of anywhere to a couple hundred to 2000+ games. A lot of people are using these same game packs with the same game descriptions in them. What I would like to know is if all these arcade sites have some type of penalty for re-using the same game descriptions...would that not be duplicate content? And also, for those in the arcade business, do you see some type of SEO benefit if you re-write the game descriptions? Thanks,
For the arcade in my sigg, I have not used a game pack & have added descriptions myself. It has a good google search rank. So it seems different descriptions do help. I am not sure about duplicate content , as descriptions are only 2-3 sentences, so if you have lots of other content, it will not be penalised as duplicate content. Thanks Ishan
Very interesting question. I'm also now working on promotion of arcade site and writing unique descriptions for each game. Maybe I just do useless work...?
Well, actually, i prefer to write my own description just because of this, but im not sure at all it's better, im just trying it... But i bet It's allways better for the SEO to write than to copy/paste...
