    Hi,

I own a mailform processor website, which can be used to transfer form data to email account. Unfortunately, many 419scammers use my website for fake bank transactions. They pretend to be a legimit bank and phish account data from victims using my webservice. Many of these scammers seem to come from Nigeria and I would like to block this country from my webservice. Is there a way to identify this using the users' IP address?

    thx

    Hello,

I am inviting you to look at blockacountry.com and use the blocking service I created. How does it work? Click on the countries you wish to block. Following blockacountry.com generates you an .htaccess document which you can upload to your server and there you go.

    wildcard,
Your site is awesome. I've just submitted it to Digg, though I'm guessing it already was in there.

But sometimes it would create a lot of server load ... because of the .htaccess document..

you can actually use the HTTP referrer to block them to access to your form
    on a .htaccess file

and if you have root access on the server you can try and create
some ip filtering to block those IPs....
