    Hillary should run with him.

The clinton vote, the women, and the black vote all in one package.

83% of college students don't know their ass from a hole in the ground, so this isn't surprising to me.

When I was at Berkeley, it was anti-nukes, and anti-apartheid; worthy struggles, but even then (reaching back into the mounting fog, now), I recall that I couldn't help wondering about a couple of ironies:

    - They trashed Sproul Plaza, leaving behind the refuse of their agitprop slogans, before heading out for a pint on University Avenue. While the 62 year old working stiff janitor cleaned up the mess left by mommy and daddy's precious.

    - Oakland was really just a bus ride away. There was real work to be done, and doing so could actually make a difference. Rather than pick up a sign, pick up a book, and get thee hence - take your ass "across the border" and teach an inner city kid how to read.

As a kid who left home at 15, and erstwhile high school dropout, I loved college, and will forever be grateful to what it gave me. I was also astounded that so many who went, it seemed to me, were just marking time. Nope, not surprising to me that so many are so ignorant of current candidates.

Aside: d16man, others who persist in using "Osamabama." I've said it before, but I guess I just felt the need to say it again. It shames you. He is a sitting U.S. Senator, duly elected. Fight the man on his issues, but why do you belittle your own argument by reducing it all to a petulant aspersion?

Reminds me of the greenpeace crowds in Santa Cruz who always leave behind the biggest messes, hippy's and trash, polution, spraypaint and the leaky VW Buses... why do they have to ruin my buses?

I believe d16man uses 'Osamabama" as a play because it is what 'kennedy' called him to begin with. In other words a joke.

I may be wrong, but maybe he should explain why he says it.

Debunked, I guess when I just see the "joke" used consistently, I no longer see a joke, but an attempt to artfully cant the conversation. I think we could all do well to rise above the temptation and just debate on the merits of things, that's all.
