USD is going down! What to do?

I just checked the currency and... the USD against the CDN is:

    1.00 USD to 1.04839 CAD

That's the lowest I've seen it in a couple of weeks while monitoring :)eek: not good for business).

What would you do? Convert Canadians to USD and wait for the USD to go up (to gain $$$$) or convert your canadian dollars to USD right away before it goes down any lower?

Good. The USD has been going up WAY too high compared to GBP and other currencies, and so I've been spending a lot more on the web unnecessarily. Glad it's going down - great for me! :p
(Although, what I'm earning is now worth less too I guess)

The Canadian dollar is going up more than the USD is going down.

That's because Canada's economy is growing faster and also as Canada has a trade surplus with US.

There is nothing much you can do about it - keep converting your USD to Canadian Dollars as and when you can.

That's my worry too. I have my saving in my US account. Since i am moving out, i don't want to keep my money there. However, the rate is way too low now.

Anyone knows someone who do money laundry? :D:D:D

Main concern is converting via paypal.. since I invoice people in USD.. paypal takes 50% of the conversion rate  so.. if it goes any lower or match up $1 USD to 1 CDN then I'll lose money :p so........ invoicing with Canadian dollars would be an advantage lol.. how funny is that.

Not funny at all cause paypal is a money leeching machine, it will still charge you border fees and what not, i hate that, why not just have some fixed per month contract sheesh paypal.

Thankfully at the moment we can leave all our payment from our american clients in USD when we have billed in USD.

It just isnt worth converting back to GBP with the dollar being so weak but at the same time we cant push our prices up too much in the states or we will be too uncompetitive

That's a tough one.. since the market is competitive w/ competitive prices. Atleast I quote and see it as in Canadian funds.. so the extra $$ from converting is just a bonus :D But still...

    What does this mean? :p

Oh well, the USD is still better than the Philippine Peso. ;)

    1 USD = roughly 46 PHP. Woot!

And if you want to really feel rich, go out and buy some Iraqi Denar (1:1250).

I know that feeling! I am on the brink of leaving my dollars where they are and waiting for it to get stronger. When I first started online stuff the exchange was about 1.5 so I'd get over £660 for each $1000....now I barely scrape £500 per $k. All I can do is make more money and then hope the dollar strengthens = richer me :).
Surely it can't get any weaker!

What would be a good currency to charge? (reworded: Which currency is stronger? Or getting stronger besides the CDN?) How is the GBP?

From current trends, is it staying stronger? What do you mean by out of hands?

BTW: I just checked and it went DOWN again!

Charge based on your local currency if you can, unless the USD is higher, then charge that.
