As you optimize your campaigns, the costs will drop over time in less competitive niches. I still get a lot of traffic at a few cents/click.

Are you referring to optimizing your website, or optimizing your actual keywords, within google adwords?

    My guess would be both.

I think it depends on the niche you're in, but I can get plenty of clicks for around 5 cent clicks in many of my niches.

Yes, they exist. I personally have thousand of $0.05 min bids on my keywords due to onpage optimization.

However, the more important question to ask is:

"Are there still $0.05 keywords that convert?"

That would be a much bigger challenge. It wouldn't be really hard to get min $0.05 bids for keywords, but whether you'll get the volume (not likely) or the conversions (depends) is a more critical question.

    Focus on ROI%, not cost/revenue :)

This is a screen shot of my adwords account. I'm paying SGD$0.03 for my best performing keyword in terms of CTR. I made a few sales in May and each sale gives me a profit of SGD$80.

I've never managed .01 cent with search, best I've had was .02cents..

Minimum bid was .01 cent | My bid was .10cent. | CTR was 38%. | Avg Position 1.1 | Avg CPC .02 cent.

I had that going for 2 months, make over 3K.. then the advertiser pulled the offer..

    Yes, they do.
You'll need to do some good keyword research for long-tailed keywords though, and those don't have much traffic, so you'll need quite a few thousands for that.
