I actually am quite fond of http://www.ewebpages.org/submit.php category selections. It's really nice, fits the theme well.
Shouldn't been posted about cats selectors here. Everyone has own preferences, mine is default selectors for few reasons. So let's get back to the thread, it's Popotalks's list. I'm sure soon he will update it with some of really nice and quality dirs mentioned above.
As I have said that there are Strong Directories and Quality Directories and I am reviewing each directory individually. These are unbiased reviews and if the owners would take time to fill the gaps then why not I could get them included. So EVERYONE should have a SLIGHT IDEA WHY the LIST is SMALL. Just Random Reviews and hope owners would take initiatives. http://www.bigguide.net/education/private-schools/ http://www.bigguide.net/regional/Caribbean/Puerto_Rico/ http://www.linksjuice.com/72/Online_Writing/ http://www.linksjuice.com/222/Romana/ http://www.alivedirectory.com/Arts/Performing_Arts/ http://www.alivedirectory.com/Reference_and_Education/Museums/ http://www.dirjournal.com/arts/art_history/ http://www.dirjournal.com/reference/open_access_resources/free_online_literature/ Still reviewing more and Thanks for the SUGGESTIONS.
But I have found some blank categories too in one of your recommended directory - http://www.linkforever.net/KidsTeens/Kids-Teens-Arts/ http://www.linkforever.net/KidsTeens/Kids-Teens-Directories/ http://www.linkforever.net/KidsTeens/Kids-Teens-People-Society/ http://www.linkforever.net/KidsTeens/Kids-Sports-Hobbies/ http://www.linkforever.net/Regional/Asia/Bahrain/ http://www.linkforever.net/Regional/Asia/Bhutan/ http://www.linkforever.net/Regional/Asia/Iran/ Do you need more ? [no offence to dargre/linkforever please]
no offense to the others, just in case I am not understanding Jude's post based on subjective material, but Is this http://www.forplex.com/Automotive/Used_Cars/ http://www.forplex.com/Games/Reviews_and_News/ what you are http://www.romow.com/Arts/People/ http://www.romow.com/Arts/Dance/ referring too? http://www.linkforever.net/Computers/Open-Source/ http://www.linkforever.net/Computers/Systems/ I am trying to understand... your criteria: http://www.dirsensei.com/Society/Politics/ http://www.dirsensei.com/Shopping/Hardware/ of selection.
Hehehe Don't worry about it Rob. I got it covered. As for forplex I do the editorial part time so its OK. Though there are no listings in there the coverage: Topics for this category are political discussion, information, resources and other specific websites that refers to politics. Discover the world of the dance, with sites about ballet, ballroom, modern, folk, jazz, tap, and other types of dance and dancers. Thanks
Ah I see, so its the same status as what you referred to earlier with linksjuice for example "Online Writing": Having no listings and being the criteria for the list. However, linksjuice does have at least a somewhat small description: Now viewing "Online Writing" related websites So basically the criteria for your list is based on personal, and biased websites to your own liking. I think I gotcha now. I think I understand. Oh btw you have a PM on yahoo. Can call me now too if you want. Anytime Rob
Then I'm at a loss now for the criteria. Maybe you can explain it a bit more, so that others, such as myself can strive for a new goal, a new standard(if you will) For example, lets use a directory, that even i have to succumb to and remains paramount amongst us. (my personal opinion of course) Is it that a page has to be cached? http://72.14.209.104/search?hl=en&r...rectory.com/Arts/Performing_Arts/&btnG=Search It's cached. Is it that a page has to have PageRank? http://www.alivedirectory.com/Arts/Performing_Arts/ It's a PR4 Is it a matter of how many BackLinks the directory has? http://www.alivedirectory.com has 2,008,879 BackLinks If the list is not in anyway biased, can you provide a better and more detailed explanation for the criteria needed to reach this personal plateau in the highland's of the directory world? That would be appreciated. Awesome Pete! forplex is a great directory. I hope you were not in anyway offended by my post. Rob
Hi there Hugo I have added more and JoeAnt is included. Sorry for the delay. I am also reviewing a lot of sites including what are the informative sites that are being added and latest links but I am sure not all will agree as I also look after site descriptions. You know that since we both have been colleagues a long time ago. I amtrying to improve also my directory on certain criterias to get accomodated at Joe Ant. I know it has high standards. Thanks
i'm kinda lost abt how you guys are trying to define QUALITY i see sites with empty categories being listed on the list as well, even though the conversation seem to imply that QUALITY directories are defined by those with descriptions or content on every page....
Yes there sites that have blanks and they are as I have said how often does the directory owners add sites and what kind of sites do they add are they submissions or do they spend time adding Informative Ones ? Are there something in Arts or Society or even Kids and Teens that a surfer could even take benefits on a directory or even Health ? Do some owners spend time doing individual category descriptions WELL enough ? These are SOME.
you have included Aviva directory on the list that gr8, but I am not able to understand why you have not added Alive directory on that site. even Aviva is having blank categories http://www.avivadirectory.com/Reference/Geography/ http://www.avivadirectory.com/Science/Mathematics/ http://www.avivadirectory.com/Science/Organizations/ http://www.avivadirectory.com/Science/Aeronautics-Aerospace/ Note - I do not have any personal problem / relation with Avia or Alive but I am also just trying to understand on what basis popotalk has made the list.
Thanks for recommendation an0n. I appreciate it. Popo - I've got lots of stuff coming into LinksJuice soon, so lets hope you'll consider it then!
How many informative sites that a directory have http://www.avivadirectory.com/detail/link-26832.html How about resources for Kids http://ask-dir.com/national-curriculum-397.html How about spending time on site descriptions Romow Web Directory Description Learn about different cultures and what forms a society's behavior patterns, beliefs, arts, and institutions. Explore sites on varied topics, such as sexuality, laws, spirituality and religion, holidays, culture, language, relationships, weddings and history. Its not about strong directories either as I have that at http://www.dirsensei.com/blog/strong-directories/ I will terry and i know and I am watching some good directories about individual improvements are countless so will definetely look at links juice.
