Hello, I am kinda confused what exactly the underground section is for here at dp? Everytime i post something that i do not want google to index in underground it gets moved to general chat where it disappears to like like 10th inner page and gets lost all the time ? Whats with that ? Please explain what exactly should be posted in underground section , and if posts are to be moved to general chat all the time why even have underground section ?
Underground is suppose to be just for stuff that only members can see. I am not sure why things are being moved to general chat, so far it has not happened to me.
Well all my posts get thrown into GC all the time, i do not want google or guests to look at them and i thought underground was like user preferences where users posts remain there and not get moved, cause users like to post sometimes in private zone for only members. It defeats the very meaning of underground if the posts get moved to GC for no obvious reasons.
I agree with you, like I said, it has not happened to me yet. I would hit the report button on one of them and ask why it has been removed, maybe you will get a quick answer. You got me curious now.
Why do you care if Google or guests look at posts such as: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3650966 There is no reason (in my opinion) why something like the above need to be in "The Underground". If you're worried about something like "Omg just reached reputation beyond repute..." getting out to the general public, I would suggest not posting it? The Underground is to be used for more important/sensitive things. Such as if you post something containing a link that you'd not like to be followed (as just an example of one of the many reasons why you would use The Underground forum)...
The thing is summer now the red-bomber squad cannot bomb me red at that thread anymore ,even if they do their reps wont count Plus i think rep points is sensitive indeed , its not like posts number as anyone can see ur posts but no one knows ur rep points, so it is definitely a sensitive matter. Hence posted in the underground section. So i do not see how it can be compared in any sense with x posts threads ?
Sooooo, 1st you are upset because you "do not want google indexing it or guests being able to see", this (or others like this) thread : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3650966#post3650966 But you are also concerned about Google/people not being able to find your thread in GC because "it disappears to like 10th inner page and gets lost". How many rep blobs you have is not a "sensitive" nor important matter. Since you seem so concerned about "the red-bomber squad" not being able to give you enough red reps, I'll be happy to give you one. From what you've just said, I'm under the impression that you want to post in the underground rather then general chat because: a) Your threads won't get buried as fast b) You can receive more rep points Are my observations incorrect?
Yes ur observations are correct. But i still have not got an answer as to exactly what is the Underground Zone for ? Cause according to your reasoning i find so many posts still there in underground. Wonder why is that the case ? Shall i start reporting them one by one ? I wonder if you get lots of infractions for reporting lots of threads ? Hmm, that makes another question for another thread whohoo.. Or wait i am not even allowed to open threads in suggestions either? Should do it in GC maybe? Plus go ahead join the red-bomber squad and enjoy giving out reds.
Haha...I love your honesty (which is why I have not given you a red rep). The underground is a place for sensitive matters that you go not want to be crawled by search engines. There is no specific set of criterion. Whether or not a thread remains in The Underground, it is up the to judgement of a moderator. I moved your thread to General Chat along with 12 other threads that I thought did not belong in The Underground, and from the reasons you've given, it was absolutely the right thing to do. (I could have given you an infraction too, but I didn't, so quit your complainin' )
