The race was too tight to call among Sochi, Russia; Pyeongchang, South Korea; and Salzburg, Austria.
    - Reward Russia with its first Winter Olympics?
    - Take the Games to a new Asian market in South Korea?, Or
    - Return to the Austrian Alps for the first time in nearly 40 years?

Salzburg would be nice. I like Salzburg - the hills are alive with The Sound of Music!

Salzburg is out, so it's now between Sochi & Pyeongchang :)

update: Sochi did it!))) I was almost sure with that kind of budget and support that it would win, time to order tickets:) j/k

    South Korea...

    That's my guess.

Right now Korea's economy is growing rapidly with those massive buildings like the ones planned in Dubai.

First Olympic games in Russia since 1980. More countries will participate in this one though- no boycott or stuff like that

That's why it is important to Russia, cos we were a closed country in soviet times. By the 2014 it will be a super ski-resort, Sochi is in South Russia, 5 hours drive from me :) The main surprise about it is that you can be on the beach and very near you can find snow for skiing, too. Kind of 2 in 1.

The prices on real estate are already like in Moscow, and realtors predicted that they will rise by 20% more, people who live there are probably very happy.

And hotels will be opening all over the place! And restaurants, and bars! Now I want the Olympics to come to Michigan! We did get a SuperBowl, so maybe someday it will happen....
