The worst I ever got was a bullet in the hand by a bbgun. Cost $2000 to remove it by a special hand surgeon. Now it's your turn, can you top that?
I got shot too Ratman, believe it or not. I was walking to school one day and my mate shot me with an air pistol. It caught me on the lip, but luckily didn't leave me with anything other than a swollen mouth for a few days. A very close call considering how close it was to my eyes. Apart from that I've been lucky. I've never broken a bone and I'm rarely ill.
I was in a car accident when I was five, my whole family was in the car and I was the most badly injured. Our car skidded off the road and fell into an enormous ditch, and I could remember a whole mess of police cars and an ambulance at the scene of the accident. My skull was cut open, and my brain was visible to all of the doctors when I was rushed into the ambulance. My head wouldn't stop bleeding, and my experience in the E.R. was both scary and painful. My head started leaking of this liquid (not blood) and I couldn't stop screaming. The nurse tried to calm me down, telling me that the liquid wasn't what I thought it was. My life was nearly taken away that day, and it has taken a while to realize how thankful I should be even now. Even now I bear a scar on my head from the glass of the car's windows which is still very hard to see due to my long hair but all of my hairstylists notice it and ask me how I got it. I don't tell them that it was broken glass from a car accident, so I just explain that it was glass that fell on me and nothing more. There is not a single day in a moving vehicle in which I don't put on a seatbelt because I will always remember that day in which an angel has looked over me that carefully as to save me from a very grisly death.
I got my one when I was just 6 and i was chasing the cricket ball but then i slipped and have had an injury in my head which was afterwards recovered ...but the signs of stitches are still there on my head. And after that I never dared to play cricket as my best game..till now i have fear of an injury while running rashly..
Ohhh. I broke my arm and ended up having surgery on it. Plaster from the thumb all the way to the shoulder Imagine how it felt when it came out of the plaster (In a bent position for 3 months)
The worst injury I got is a tear in the cartilage of my knee. It occurred in a collision with my friends in playing football for my college. You must be feeling really itchy in the plastered part during that time. I had also experienced once.
The worst I had was a car accident that was not my fault. I had both knees crush and right ankle was left cripple but lucky they put a screw in to fix it. That was 5 years ago....
and i the only normal person here... I've never had any serious injury and hope to keep things that way....
Well, it's a toss-up between fracturing my skull, nearly tearing my left arm off at the root, or shooting myself with a crossbow. Skull: 10 years old. Brothers and I are in the back of a 1 ton pickup. One brother hops out, I think, "OK!," take a step - and dad punches it. I tumble down in a beautiful 1 1/2 and ping my bean on the trailer hitch. Arm: 12, same %$#@ truck. Heading down the major boulevard in our area, bored. Gap between the bed and the cab - enough for me to delight dangling a rope, watching it touch the drive shaft. Moments later, I am through the cab window, my arm is dangling limply; moments after that, delirious with shock, I begin to bend my newly pliant forearm, laughing maniacally while shouting "it's dead! It's dead!" My poor pregnant sister in law loses her lunch and my valiant older brother dives on me to immobilize the arm. Good Dr. Fussel, a Jamaican ortho (and a brilliant one at that - 35 years later, I owe him the use of my arm), said "another second, and you'd have no arm"). As it was, every bone snapped clean, months in a special tension cast, and years in physical therapy. (Agent Smith - I feel your pain. Years with a crooked arm only straightened by manual torture (PT) performed by my step dad; and, thankfully, an early and sustained career as a competitive swimmer). crossbow: Too stupid to detail. Suffice it to say I was a kid who got tired, playing with his brother's 80-lbs bow on the sly; got tired of pulling to set the bow, so thought I'd set the bow by pushing, breech against his belly. Bolt goes in and....
I guess I would have to say cutting off the end of my finger. I had just repaired my lawn mower and was wearing gloves and it was a self-propel lawnmower with gears. The shield was clacking so I reached down to pull it up off the gear and my glove got caught in the gear and pulled the finger in. It mangled the end of my finger. I lost about two inches on it and have 3 inch scar on the other finger where it was sliced open.
Snapped my ankle completely over to the side. Tore every ligament clean off the bone.. having no blood flow to ligaments means perm injury.. I had major surgery.. now full of titanium in the ankle / foot area and have severe arthritis when I walk. I now use a cane.. "Think House" off of TV
I was in a car accident. Girl driving was trying to race an Integra in the Eclipse we were in. She rubbed the curb, start loosing control. We started spinning. I was in passanger side, we hit themedian and started rolling into oncoming traffic. I was pressed against the window on the first roll, and when we rolled the glass broke and my shoulder grinded on the street. Needless to say, it took a nasty chunk from my shoulder. I have pics of it the first couple days after (you cant sew something like that, so I had to keep an open hole in my shoulder) to show off, its pretty disgusting looking. Anyways, my girlfriend got the worst end, she was tossed out and ran over. This happened at 70 miles an hour. She ended up living, but was really screwed up for awhile. She is back to normal now, just has a small limp from teh rod in her leg.
I attempted to take my own life after a massive drug binge.. Not gonna go into to much detail... Gallon of petrol, zippo, 10 years of surgery and physically im still pretty f***ed up...
Nothing really serious. I had sprained ankles from playing basketball everynow and then and a few bruises from a motorcycle accident. --Joe
