I hope this is the right thread to post the issue . Yesterday, I took up a job for coding PSD template to xHTML/CSS template from mproject1 from this thread . The deal was finished fine, I got the payment for 60$ via paypal and I sent the files to him, even put a good iTrader remark. But in the evening I got a message from paypal . I contacted mproject1 about this and this is what he replied Then I asked him to send me his email ID so that I can request money from him which he can pay via a credit card. But I got no reply so far ! Paypal At paypal I see money on hold and a resolution center message. When I click on "Resolve Claim Now", I'm taken to a page where the issue has three option (see screenshot) Now, The 2`nd option is the only option I could opt but that is totally different case as this is a service not a shipment !! Can anyone please suggest me something ! please. Mods can check my PM messages for proof.
Keep contacting mproject1, he owes you the $60. It is not your problem to sort out his fraud. Tell him to pay you. There is no point trying to get paypal to cover the funds. It is simply mproject1 who needs to pay you the balance.
What is he supposed to explain? He has no affiliation or connection with the person who paid the $60. That was a payment from a 3rd party. He has no contract or deal with that person and sent them nothing. He has no remedy with paypal. Worse yet, he cannot say that the person who paid $60 got what they paid for, since he was not part of that deal. He is basically screwed out of the $60 from paypal. But, he does have a right to get the $60 from the person who owes him - the person who told someone else to pay the $60 that he never got.
Contact a PayPal rep buy phone and let them know it was a "virtual item" from what I have seen and heard the seller wins 98% of the time with this unless it was an outright scam which yours was not it was legit.
Virtual item? You have no chance. Paypal doesn't care about the seller when you sell virtual items. You have no proof you sent him his virtual item anyway. I had a simmilar scenario, but a virtual item in a game [Money in an MMORPG, valued at 80$]. Same thing happened, He paid with a BS Paypal account, I had over 150 Ebay feedback, 100% Positive, and a pp account with 100+ Transactions. PP Took the money, and I, the seller, lost out.
Well then PayPal screwed you over. It says right on the site that PayPal does not offer buyer protection for virtual items
It costs less then a buck to rip a disc with the code, mail it to him and get tracking. No longer a virtual item, I do it for any work over 20 bucks.
Unfortunately, kiss your money good bye and tell PP to piss off. They are not a bank and they are not bound by any kind of banking laws. If you do not follow the ToS they will not back you. Even if you do, they may not back you. There are alternatives out there. I prefer Moneybookers. If you do continue to use PP, always CYA. I lost $2G from a similar scenario, but I withdrew the funds first, so now they have attorneys calling me... I love to hate Paypal...
Well, I have been trying to contact paypal through mails from last 3 days but got no reply. Yes, I asked the mproject1 if he can pay via moneybookers but nothing in his reply. Although, he asked if I accept egold , now I donno a crap about egold and I don't want to create a new payment system account without proper knowledge of its working.
He used Hacked Paypal Account 100%, no word to say. In another thread he accepts paypal, and here he explained that he doesn't have paypal account, lol
Better you do the refund, otherwise you will end up paying a extra charge if the payment was done using a CreditCard and chargeback is filed. PayPal Sucks!
Actually I don't have anything in my hand. There is issue opened by the buyer (as said in paypal, paypal considers this as goods delivery or something) . So now as I can't choose an option I can't do anything. So after one week the money will automatically refunded.
I'm sorta in the same spot.. I did some gfx work, got the payment today and within 1 hr, I get a "Your Account has been put under review" I basically told Paypal about the gfx job and we'll see what happens next...
I would at least try what was suggested above: mail a CD with tracking (I don't know the USPS system but if you're in Canada I believe expedited is the cheapest to the address listed. It might work, it might not, but it shouldn't cost you much and you could get your money.
I had the worst experience with paypal ever which resulted in months and months loss of business. I lost so much money and ended up having to give away free hosting to customers for months. This was due to suspected fraud even though I provided paypal with bank statements and more I even verified my bank account and address yet it still took 3/4 months to resolve. I am glad in away as the experience helped me to look further afield for alternate methods of receiving payments from customers. Luckily the issue was resolved in the long run and I now have full access to my paypal account restored I am very angry with paypal very very angry they did not inform me why they suspected fraud nor did they keep me up to date on the progress on there investigation. However even though I do believe PayPal went the wrong way around this it would be unrealistic to say I will not use paypal as the only harm I would be doing there is to myself they are the leading payment gateway provider on the net and everyone seems to use them as a payment method and a lot of sites as there only payment method therefor I have not and will not stop using them as it would result in a huge loss of business. However I would say paypal maybe need to sit down and reconsider there TOS and policies & procedures. I would advise you to see this out call paypal up try and resolve this as even though it may be timely it is worth it. But then I would suggest using alternate methods for business in the future such as Money Bookers, and my personal fav Google Checkout. I am sorry you have had this small set back as I know from personal experience that it is very frustrating and does mean a loss in business. I wish you the best of luck in resolving the issue let us know how it does. Best wishes ~Rick~
