    Hello,
I am working on writing a review for dmoz at my new web directory review project, currently working with another member from dp. I am looking for sites that can provide me good reliable backlinks for sites, i know msn backlink checker is dead, so other alternative are welcome. All reviews i am hoping to be posted doing mannual checks, so if your site got some really good working site backlink checkers please do let me know, cause it will provide free advertising for your scripts also. I was thinking on using iwebtool , but from what i seen with their pagerank script not sure if its reliable.

Also require site which can provide maybe a histroy of particular sites ? wayback is good for providing how site looked like, but any other site out there that keeps history of various websites?

    Thanks guys.

Oh no i do not want to make script, i will not have any scripts running on website and loading other websites. Just mannual website backlink checks.

Wonder if link:www.domain.com on google and yahoo would do the trick to tell how many backlinks a site has or not.

What is mong's specialty ? Were you talking about getting script made? Can you post usernames url, cause i have no idea who mong is.

I think i tried his site : http://backlinkwatch.com/ and i had to close it down, as i did not get what i was looking for. I am looking for just the total number of backlinks a site has.

So yahoos command would be link:www.domain.dom right?

Yeah, and you also can try google webmaster tools, it shows the exact number of your backlinks.

Interesting site there, but why does it give totally different backlinks than what freeweb provided? Especially the yahoo backlinks?

Yahoo would have been good, but it has one drawback - it shows nofollow links as well. These are of no use in Google.

it only shows the 1 link from a site. So if you have sitewide links, on a site with 1000 pages, it will only show 1 link.

I aint rich dude, but yaa i got few sites, i just need to check backlinks for other directories sites whose reviews i and my partner will be posting about. Will be writing about google directory and yahoo shortly than comes dp members directory reviews :p, so i need backlinks as directories serve the main purpose of providing backlink and a pr juice.
