Kalvin - am I to understand this is a spam utility, and truly anonymous?

It's not a spam utility. It is anonymous. There's a standard string attached to the subject so you know where the message came from. There's also a link in the message to the site. IPs are restricted to a limited number of e-mails per day. In the event of unmanagable abuse I have a cut off switch.

I don't know why that would be. You need a from,to, subject and and more than 6 characters in the body to send the message.

I'm really not trying to pick a fight - we have enough in this way in plenty of other avenues - but I don't understand how it's not spam if it's anonymous, and how it's anonymous if "you know where the message came from?" Can you explain a bit more about this?

Spam is commerical e-mail. This intended for personal messages.

Spam also requires a large quantities of e-mails. This site only allows a few dozen e-mails per IP per day and that limit can be lowered if needed.

Spammers have their own botnets going for sending out spam. They're not looking for small time mail servers. Especially ones with easily filterable forced subject lines.

I guess I define spam as the sending of any unwanted e-mail. A really quick search yielded a definition that works for me:

    http://www.mediagang.com/6.SPAMDEFINITION.html

-but it isn't skin off my back. In truth, I only ask as, you see, my lower self was very tempted to send some serious admission of my true feelings for several special folks at the firm I am soon to be leaving.:D

Now, can you explain what you mean when it is anonymous, but the recipient knows where the message came from? You mean, they may see an anonymous sender name, but the IP is known?

They know where it came from in that the site is advertised in the e-mail and in the subject.

You could tell whomever you wanted. What I'm doing isn't illegal or unique. It's a fun toy for giving your friends a hard time.

I'd call it semi-anonymous, northpointaki. Here is the header of the message:

I xxxx'ed out the IPs, my email addresses, and the server being used to send the email. I don't think the email could be traced back to you; if that's the real question ;)

Thanks, gents. Kalvin, I know we've had our disagreements, but this is definitely not meant to be a picking point. Just genuinely curious, that's all. In truth, my nature is more to go in and tell these particular gentlefolks precisely what I think of them to their face - lawyers. But a few beers in, and I best leave it at that.

Have a good 4th, both of you.

You have a very distinctive way of speaking/writing that could easily give you away. If you decide to send a anonymous letter to your lawyer friends, try not to talk so smart. Pretend like your crazy, and write something short like "hey coo coo head I be watching u from window every day!"
This will probably freak them out and they will not blame you.:)
