I have a blog that my friend and I write on. It is a dedicated Brewers blog and we have a lot of information including farm club jumps, farm club news, big league scores, injuries, and much more. We have a great look to the site, but we can't seem to really get readers. I know in the past the Brewers weren't the biggest team in the world, but as of now they are the best team in the National League. The site is Brew Crew Blog. Any help would be great.

You could add your site to social bookmark sites and get more links to it.

One of the first strategy is to join up MyBlogLog and start making friends with other bloggers of the same theme.

This web2.0 thing isn't about just becoming a member. It's about joining the conversation. Leave friendly, considerate comments on people's blogs and their bloglog pages. Let people know you've got a great article out (not too often, but when you really do). Link to good blogs in your niche and tell them you linked to them - that sort of thing.

In your case I'd also recommend getting into stumbleupon. there too the main thing (especially when just starting out) is to become part of the community. Do some stumbling weekly, especially in your niche. Thumb up stuff that's good. give comments on stuff that's good. Add people as friends who've got your subject listed as an interest. Find out who thumbs up your site and befriend them... etc.

The short of it is: be social on online social networks. If your content is good, being social should get you readers.

I just signed up for Stumble Upon. We will see if that works.

Don't forget to join in one or more of the Stuble Exchanges going on in the Freebies section of the Buy, Sell & Trade board.

You can get your site in front of quite a few eyeballs pretty quickly that way!

You can't just do one or two things. It's a constant job...

    I would suggest....

*you do press releases about your site.
*do keyword research and see what people are searching for related to the Brewers.
*write around your keywords on your blog
*concentrate on becoming an authority site - you already have good content, now all you need are several good strong links

Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you are doing things daily to keep getting traffic to your site. It's not one time work. It's constant work...

Put together a plan from suggestions you get here and go through that plan daily.

Is what I have done is since I have a google account, I have a calendar. On that calendar is 2-3 promotional things for each of my sites. I start each day off by going to my calendar and seeing what I need to do that day. My calendar is full Mon-Fri.

You sound new to all of this, so that would probably be a good thing for you to do.

    Hope that helps...

If you are willing to invest, then perhaps talk to some local sports talk radio stations about advertising. I've got no idea how much that usually costs, but I'd imagine you can make a deal. Keep in mind they have sales staff that is eager to sell you the airtime at top dollar pricing. Most places that have sales staff are negotiable.

First off, go Brewers!!! You've got a really solid site with some good information. I think with a site like yours it will take a little bit of work to gain a solid core of regular users. I agree with the previous posters that you should definitely take advantage of social networking sites to get your name out there and gain some links. I do believe, however, that it is going to take more to really make the site take off. I would recommend becoming regular users of Brewers/baseball forums (which you may already be) and posting your link in the signature area if it is allowed. This will focus your marketing on your target demographic instead of relying on the shotgun approach of social networking. Also, promote your site everywhere. This means telling your family, friends, and anyone else who will listen about the site. You'd be amazed at the power of word of mouth. Which leads in to my final point, always focus on quality, valuable content. Judging from your site, you are already doing this which is wonderful, but never lose your focus. The majority of visitors to a site like yours will be regular visitors as opposed to someone who just happened upon it in a search engine. You want to capture those regular visitors and give them a reason to check back everyday. If you need any other help/suggestions feel free to PM me. I love helping out with things that I am passionate about. Go Crew!

Join myspace.Target your friends with the same interest.Promote your website. It's easier if you buy some bot to send requests for you.2 people can do very good at promoting on myspace. Each can get 400 friend requests per day.In couple of months you will have a lot of readers if you update your website and you give people something to come back. This is not spam, this is promoting.

    You really want traffic?

Make a series of Brewers players animated bobblehead style widgets that people can add to their social network pages and fan sites.

Or, have a Flash baseball game customized to reflect the team. As Mr. Costner said, "Build it and they will come".

The idea is to get away from the traditional link building - seo marketing mentality of many web marketers and take an agressive "Madison Avenue" approach to your marketing.
