I am excited to be in on the ground floor of a new monetization opportunity for bloggers and web site owners, and I want to give you the opportunity to get in on it early as well! A leading distributor for Ask.com has a new program called Related Search Ads. It is highly customizable and puts you in complete control over all aspects of the ad display. You can use this program on sites where you have Adsense ads, and it can work well on those sites where Adsense just doesn’t provide much income. Right now they’re focusing on approving only high-traffic sites (50,000+ visitors per month), but hopefully that will change soon. You can see it in action at the bottom of each post on my home site, as well as in the sidebar of one of my niche blogs, Printables4Scrapbooking. It’s working great for me so far, and I'm planning to add it to ALL of my other sites. How does it work? you enter a keyword/phrase in the set up form, choose whether you want a vertical or horizontal display and what size you want, how many links you want to display, and what elements you want to have in the links area. When users click on one of the related search terms it opens a new window or tab in Ask.com and you earn a commission clicks on sponsored links! Will my Adsense clicks decline? I have not seen a decline since I’ve been using it, and other users have reported the same. How can I sign up? New publishers are being taken by referral only, and each site is reviewed individually and manually approved. Click here to sign up via my referral form! Put my name (RANDA CLAY) in the referral form. Once you sign up, you can also apply to earn from those who sign up under you! This is a great program- I encourage you to try it out and let me know what you think.
I think I might check this out for one of my websites to see how well it does. Do they contact you by email to let you know you are approved? Thanks!
Yes, they do. I've been working with a guy named Nick- he's been great. He even called me twice from the UK!
I started using the Ask Related search a week or so ago. i only have it on 2 pages and it's been making me a few $$ per day. so far i'm happy with it.
I'm sure it varies based on the niche you're in, but so far it's been very similar to Adsense. I think giving specifics might be against the TOS, I'm not sure- I need to read it again, but anyway, since each niche is different giving specifics on my scrapbooking site, for example, probably wouldn't tell you much. I've been talking with several people in the last couple of days who use this on sites where they already have Adsense and just like me, they are VERY pleased with the CTR and CPC, especially since Adsense hasn't decreased.
How much higher is your CTR than Google on your http://printables4scrapbooking.com/ site. Also do you get the same amount per click as Adsense rougthly on this site or do you roughly earn the same amount even low you earn less per click with Ask, just because you receive a higher CTR? I'm just curios to see how good this really maybe.
My CTR so far is 1% higher on my scrapbooking site than Adsense. Once they click on the link in your site they have to click on a sponsored link in the search results that are displayed in order to get paid for the click, so you lose a couple there. I really haven't even fully implemented the program as far as I plan to, so I'm sure it will only improve. The ads are very "clickable" because you can have as many links in them as you want. And, the fact that you can choose the keywords at the post level makes the links even more relevant. I'm just implementing this at my kids site, and the visitors there are even better ad clickers than at the scrapbooking site, so I'll report back as to how that goes. Here's the sign up link again - put Randa Clay in the referred by spot.
By the way, if anyone was interested, but was put off by the traffic level I listed, you should apply anyway. I know for a fact they are taking people with less traffic (much less)- they're manually reviewing all sites so please give it a try. It's a very short application form.
It's pretty new, so I'm a ways out from a payment. They've been super easy to work with. The manager of the program has even called me twice, so I feel pretty good about them.
I see their site is now down for 2 days or more but their ads are still showing on my site, Wondering if we are going to get ripped
I joined the program and the results have not been very encouraging. It seems to be targeted to the UK market only.
I guess it depends on your niche- I have not found it to be especially targeted to UK. At this point, now some weeks into the program, I am making less than Adsense, but the nice thing is that my Adsense revenue has not decreased at all, so this is just extra income, and is doing much better than the Auction Ads I've been playing around with.
Yeah, I dropped it. My EPC was approximately 10% of what AdSense pulled. On an eCPM basis, the news wasn't quite so bad. AdSense brought in about six times what the MediaJump ads were earning. And that's before any attrition that might come about when final numbers are posted.
