i have no budget really..I get on spending sprees about 1 or 2 times a month buying links, sponsoring templates, paid submissions..I too am in the RED every month..O well,a business loss?
I take it step by step, Anon. The timeframe is the three months I mentioned on my previous post. I check all these factors at the end of a period and set my goals for the next period. For example Link Moz. For backlinks I use several tools to check. I finished the previous three months with iwebtool showing 1500 backlinks (other tools show more), so I set a goal for 5,000 backlinks for this period, from the same tool. You can check yourself to see how I am doing. Traffic for April was 1700, uniques, and my goal was set to 4500 uniques by the end of july. I finished June with 3550, so I am pretty close. As for the amount I spent and the revenue I make i think it is too personal to share. For sure I am not even close to your budget. That's it. Any opinions?
Nope, just would like to see the goals that people set, stick to them, and succeed to the best of their abilities. I always wish everyone success.
I am just setting for something bigger every time, and eventually I will have something big. I learned that from my 10 years as a competitive, member of the Greek national wightlifting team, athlete. I think sports have taught me some good values.
ha! the only thing weight lifting has taught me, is how to deal with PAIN! see that tear? That is my current pain now =/
My Goals to please Rob 1) Become the third most dominant general bidding web directory; thats after the one you own and big web links. Main rivalry comes from choice (biduplinks.com) chris (cdhnow.com) and others like bidforplacement, frogengine etc 2) Get some damn SE traffic. Zorg links is not yet 50 days old. Traffic is good, but i really need to hit onto these new highly searched yet low competitive terms such as bidding directory. As zorg links domain is still new, google does not see it as trusted and ranks low. A search for "zorg links" brings up more trusted sites like digital point threads and bigweblinks before my site. 3)my final aim for 2007 is to break even. Think that will happen in the later months after 2 PR updates. so far costs are around $3000, and revenue is nearing $700. So i'm not doing bad. But i think a PR update will swing things in my favour, as there are unfortunately some people who care only about PR and won't submit until a site has it, regardless of alexa, traffic and other quality indicators.
I also had a knee injury, which kept me away from the world championship of 2004. Anyway, I am getting off topic. Sorry for that.
wow, so it seems that most of those who responded are not doing directories full time? else how can u always be in the red and expect to feed yourself? I was expecting at least some to say they limit spending to certain limits so at least they have some $$$ to take home each month.....
i have a $400 a month job at the supermarket, and i live with my parents so i can always feed myself etc i just pile money into my bidding directory and it works out
I earn from other sources like adsense or blogs. So directories are not main income source yet as I need to re-invest a lot. Right now, I am setting up my directories to feed themselves, earning and re-investing at the same time. So they can grow steadily. I'm planning to cut 50% of the reinvestment soon. So I can take it into my pocket
