Is it hard to create a directory that makes decent money?

    It's simply different. It depends on what you like doing.
    I have read posts saying that someone earns 10,000$ from adsense per month.
    There are also a few directory owners that earn this amount or even more.
    It is all about what you like doing.
    Doctors earn money, but lawyers do also....
    What you do to earn is your choice...

    we could argue all day rob, but its easier to make $$$ from directories than from another company.

    And yes, i have made up to $70 a day with adsense. only works with good traffic.

    thats why i made a directory, i wanted to change. it doesnt need to rely on another company quite so much (except paypal i guess)

    it is. its addictive. i got adsense syndrome (the need to check your stats all day)

    alltho zorg links is giving me PR syndrome, waiting for the damn update :)

    I'm getting tired of adsense, and today I just thought of a really cool idea for a link directory that I haven't seen yet so I think i'm gonna dive in and get my site rolling!! I just spend way too much time with adsense and I feel as if I'm getting no where even though I get ok traffic.

    In business you have to make an investment to achieve profit. As any other business it is always hard to establish at first but with hard work and a decent amount of investment the benefits you would receive are surely rewarding. It takes time but wait patiently.

    Exactly, you say you can make money by being a PR 0, but in all honesty you have probably invested a load of money to get the traffic so all the income is just paying for the traffic.

    So what does that mean PR0's don't make money.

    Traffic, Repuation of Owner and PR are what make a good DIR.

    You can have awesome PR but if no one knows about it or trusts you it's worth nothing. If you have several thousand to spend on a DIR buy one and give it some plastic surgery.

    never made any money with PR0 directories but I'm sure it's possible. I usually start to make money with PR2 directories and it takes from 3 to 6 months.
