No chance. Don't waste your time even asking. Even though he's a bad member his personal information is confidential - probably protected by law.

I think there's a big queue of people with you! I know it's frustrating that he's robbed you of your cash but DP would lose credibility, probably violate laws too as I said, if they were to begin giving out personal details.

In my country, Confidential Information can be provided to Government at any time they ask. So, if Police directly asks DP admin to give his information then he must have to provide the information.

Well DP is not located in your country it is located in the United States and that is not the way things work here. As stated by Sarah, he could always get a court order for the information.

Even if DP did provides that information, he would still have to get a court order to get the information from the ISP and/or email provider.

If he is a good scammer, he might even had faked all those. It is just one of those lesson people learn. Be careful who you deal with!

It is always a risk to exchange money, not to mention it is against Paypal's TOS.

Are you sure he lives in the same country as you? Would be a bit hard to find him if you lived say in England and he lived in Australia. lol I'm sorry to hear he scammed you, though!

My 2 cents, just forget about it now and move on. :)

Don't think that will happen, this is the third thread so far by the OP about the scam. Funny thing is, if you look at stas5855555's post, he started the same way by accusing others of scamming him, then he made a few good trades and than started scamming people.

    I
What country are you in? By the sound of your first post I though it might be a communist country where the government has full control. The two countries have very similar laws just the United States threw a few twist to differ from the original mother country.

Sorry I can't mention my location. Government has full control in our country but the thing is that some rules are taken from USA and British Laws with some modification. But in case mentioned about I am pretty sure that Government can ask anytime for any information from anybody if she thinks necessary. And the person is bound to provide that. I am sorry if I am saying anything wrong. But that's what I know and studied.

I totally agree. You will surely lose money and waste your time if you want to do all this stuff. It will take much time and may be more than what you lost.

even when it is flagrant abuse of copyright laws, DP will defend the rights of the person abusing them unless you get a court order, DP will not remove copyrighted images unless you have a court order, even when a blind person can see the abuse

DP cred is already going downhill.

    havine said that.
trading in money exchange is not 100% legal and you took the risk, deal with it, and trade with the next scammer, you have been warned, you took the risk for the 1% extra gain, and lost $180. who is the real scammer here? you for trying to bypass laws or him for taking your money and saying FU?

you took the risk and lost. give it up. everyone that deals in this money laundering , is no better than drug trafficking and laundering the profits. you get ripped off sometimes. just learn to swallow it and STFU

You should get the court order to get the information because DP won't break its rules and regulation just because you said them.

Trust me that in the UK the Police's entitlement to information is also restricted. For example, they can't just go and say to a telephone company 'please give me XYZ's address'. Getting a court order in this case is also a bit of a non-starter - what info are DP going to be able to provide you with? Probably a hotmail email addy, his make believe date of birth and maybe his IP address (but which self-respecting scammer doesn't use a proxy?)
