I was just wondering how many keywords on one page is too much. What is the ideal number of keywords on a single page? I am referring to the same word multiple times.
That's the question of any SEO Some might come up with static nº like xx% keyword density, but the real issue is - it depends - on the competition - their KW density - the length of copy, on your page - even a "correct" density that does not look "natural" will do better with less ... and some other factors.
I would suggest you to keep the keyword density in the 4-8% range. Concentrate on getting some quality related backlinks with the right anchor text. That will help a lot more than keyword density.
I'd recommend the 4%-8% range as well. There's no "secret sauce" to keyword density on the page, but that always seems to work for me. Also including plural forms of the content, LSI terms, and long-tail phrases within the body.
How many keywords should you have though? I have like 40ish now, and they're really draining my budget...not sure what I should do. Please help!
Look at the competition for your keywords. Some might be easy to rank for, others not so easy. Also depends on the traffic and season for your keywords. Focus on the relatively important but smaller ones and then move on
