Yeah!!! i am asking million dollar question, How to increase backlinks for the particular domain. I have 4 sites and want to concentrate on the backlinks, as this is the only way we can go ahead on the google. Some of the sites, niche is too big and might be it will take me 4-5 years to get on to the top, however some keywords are good enough that they will make on to the google within6-8 months. Not to sure, how to work upon backlinks, how to create and manage them. if money is involved, let me know ( i have some 100$ at max). As i said, not too sure what the things are gonna be.. First add them to your signature every post is a backlink. Then Comment on other blogs with the URL's Do link exchanges Write some content people will write about it on their site and have a link to you as the source. Bookmarking is also good.

Relevant links are what you need to get to front page for a niche thats competed for in the least. It never hurts to submit to an assload of directories either though, that will help you in msn.
Well!! i know all these steps however nonthing helping me out to build the links. Submitting the links to directories and paid submission also did not bring the results. Thats why i was looking something different that i can do.
Find out interested and related sites and blogs in your niches and try to exchange links with them. For blogs, you can leave useful comments on the blogs, and they will be counted as free backlinks to your sites/blogs. You can also read this Link Building Guide for more tips on link building etc.
If you want natural links, the only and best way is to write good content. You said not updated well on one of the sites. It is very easy to update technology sites. Follow tech blogs and magazine and post commentaries with links. Write, write and write if you want to build links. Once you have to a stage where you are updating everyday, start visiting other blogs. Concentrate here. It works wonders for me. Visit new blogs. Visit blogs that are not so popular. Link to them. They will be so hapy to link back to you. Leave comments on their blogs. You can even ask for a link exchange subtly. Make sure that, even if the blog is new, he/she updates often enough. That way he/she is serious and will also get some PR in the near future. There are millions of blogs out there. Target 10-15 blogs at a time. Comment on them regularly untill they blogroll you. Then move on to new blogs, but don't leave the old blogger's. COmment sometime, though not as frequently as you did. Trick is to befriend the blogger. He will link to you even if you have an irrelevant blog. All this while, don't forget to update your blog, as often as possible. Hard work isn't it? There is no such thing as easy Money or easy traffic.
For starters you may want to update your sites. I know you're asking about getting backlinks, but outdated sites result in two problems: 1. Other webmasters will not want to trade links with a site wich hasnt seen an update in over a year. 2. The longer you leave your sites without updating them, the less spiders will bother with them. If you have a very large, regularly updated sites, the spiders will constantly be coming back for more. On the other hand, spiders would just crawl these backlinks and think "Ah not the old site again".

I'm missing something here, submitting links is not getting you more backlinks? If you're desired results is PR (page rank) then you need to wait for google to update the PR - they do that a couple of times a year, not all the time. If you're looking for better SERPs (search engine rank possition) then you need to do search engine optimization (SEO) using the keywords you want to rank for. This includes using your keywords in the anchor text of your backlinks. If you want you site indexed more often, then you need to submit links to other sites that are indexed quite often like social bookmarking sites, and update your sites regularly. Google does not reindex if the site has not been updated since the last index.

Okies what exactly what i was considering was SEO , as my PR is 3 and i am quiet happy about that, i submitted the link to the directories ( to the concerned and in proper categories) moreover i did not spam directories, the link which i purchased and i manually submitted were fine and less in no. in all i remember it was around 75-100 directories which i targeted (list i got from DP) and perform the task.
