I launched a new site 3 weeks ago which has over 10,000 links already. Here is what I didn't do: No links are from directories No links are from article submission No links have been exchanged I didn't pay for any links I don't have any sitewide links The site already ranks well in Google. The key to getting links fast is linkbaiting If you want ideas for linkbait for your sites post in this thread or submit your site for a free linkbait review (make sure you write that you want a linkbait review in your comment).
I would suggest removing the Adsense and paid links while you are linkbaiting. Most bloggers don't like linking to sites with too many ads. Your topic is tech focused so linkbaiting is fairly easy. If you subscribe to loads of blogs related to your industry and start learning about how to seed your content on Digg you should do well. Diggers love tech articles but they need to be very well written.
That is a great achievment! Do you have any suggestions for http://www.tupac-amaru.com ? The term tupac is searched for millions of times a month, but since it's a fansite it's such a hard topic to gain decent backlinks.
I really have no idea about this topic so here is my standard answer for linkbaiting: Search sites like stumble, digg, delicious to see if anybody else has released some link bait in your niche for inspiration. Connect with other bloggers to see what they like linking to and produce more of the same. If you know other bloggers they are more likely to link to you.
Very nice read mad4. I have posted my site and request for link bait ideas and stuff. Please have a look and give some guideline. Thanks
Do you use some kind of DNS cache service? We changed servers last week and the post will only be available on the new server. It sounds like you are hitting the old server somehow?
To make the site gain more users I would allow people to subscribe by email and place your feed button at the top of the page. Once you have loads of readers they will start to link to you. Use services like stumbleupon to drive traffic and try to take advantage of the social networking sites. It is hard to linkbait a video site unless your content is unique. Get it on digg & stumbleupon and the links will flow. There are tons of ebay blogs that will link to it. I'm behind a corporate firewall which is blocking the videos today. I suggest maybe removing the ads when you are linkbaiting as this will encourage more bloggers to link to you. Create an interactive Google map of Naxos with loads of local attractions and businesses on it. Fill the site with loads of images to attract traffic from google images.
Thanks for the info, ill try and home later today as im currently at work which doesnt have the DNS updated as regularly due to such a large network. Look forward to reading your thoughts. Ta
mad4, and what do you say about www.heidiklumfans.com ? your suggestions ? And I can see that yahoo is now showing that your blog has 19,400 backlinks
That article is really good and have given me an insight on what would have happened if I made this game. I didn't think much of it at the time and it was just going to help my visitors, but now I realize that it could have been actually a good link bait game. Also, you may want to fix your blog. When people type in ' in the comments part it inserts it like \' . You need to use the stripslahes(); function. I think that is how you write that function.
The best way to linkbait fan sites is to fill them with images and then use this script to build links Games can be great linkbait. Thanks for the comment on the bug, I use stripslashes to display the comments but the preview seems to be missing it. I will fix it.
