Hello, Just a few weeks ago my page (http://example.com/keyphrase) got indexed in google. Untill about three days ago it was in the Supplemental Result index with no mention of it in the first several SERP's for its main keyword. Actually, I gave it up when I saw it in the Supplemental Result index. Just a few minutes ago, I've done a desperate routine search on Google for the keyphrase, and guess what? I am #2 on google for that competitive keyphrase. Wow! I can't believe this! They must be kidding me! I mean, I jumped from a Supplemental Result to #2 just like that!!! The keyphrase is a competitive one related to pharmacy products (NOT viagra ), it has 1,860,000 results and many PPC ads. The #1 result for this keyword is a .com domain that matches the keyphrase (with a dash in the domain name) and has 38,100 incoming links as shown by a Yahoo link search. Mine (my page and not the main domain) has only a few hundred backlinks (fairly good quality links). The most important thing now is that it lasts there. P.S. 1- Please do not ask me about the keyphrase, my page's URL, what did I do... I won't disclose any such info. 2- NO blackhat.
Hmm Congrats for now But if your rank is not based or justified by your backlinks then you will fall down sooner or later.
Now what you need to do is KEEP it there. Keep getting strong links and keep adding more to it. Good luck.
I'm on it now! I have to change some content on the page now to a more serious, monetizing content. I don't know why, but I have a strong seeling it'll disappear soon. I hope I'm wrong, though.
