As many of you know two weeks ago i sold 1stchoicesearch.com Here is the problem Up to receiving full payment all emails where replied to instantly and now ever since payment nothing at all. In the deal i agreed to host free for 1 year and transfered the domain to him and sent him all the login details so that he could change them. Well 2 weeks later and passwords are still the same and still no response the problem now is i have changed hosts and need to put the directory on the new hosing but without a reply from him the name servers cannot be changed to point it at the new hosting. Other part of the deal was that he honor any sponsored links and banner ads on the website. Now do i keep on paying the $60 hosting for the old account plus my new hosts for the next 3 months to honor the ads or do i transfer to the new host and take down the site until i get a response from him one DP members response when i asked was it is no longer my responsibility take it down What do i do
Maybe he went on holidays... For the sake of 60$ I would pay it myself to keep the website live especially with a PR update around the corner and to keep the good faith of your old sponsors etc. Maybe try emailing his paypal email or checking the whois info to see did he put in his contact details.
I think you allow him a reasonable amount of time to respond and then you take him down. Then when he is ready, you can bring him back up at the new host.
that would be understandable BUT the last 2 hours before he paid every email was replied within minutes then as soon as he pays never receive another reply if you just spent thousands on a website you ain't going to leave it as soon as you pay
May be he is in an accident etc. I can host the site on my hosting account, for one back link. You can just move the site and wait for him to respond. As long as the back link is there, I don't care how long. PM, me if you like it. Thanks
whats the point if name servers cannot be changed i dont have a problem putting it on my new server but he needs to change DNS
all the who is says is Registration Service Provided By: NameCheap.com Contact: Domain name: 1stchoicesearch.com Registrant Contact: LA Metal Roofs LLc aleksandr biyevetskiy (aleksandr-biyevetskiy @ hotmail.com) +1.401 Fax: +1.5555555555 25 bank st North Attleboro, MA 02760 US nameserver still point to websitewelcome.com
If you sold website for thousands and agreed to host it for another year it is your responsibility to do so.You should pay one more month for webhosting until you get reply from new owner regarding DNS. Maybe he is on vacation or something happened and keeping him away from computer. If he is reasonable person, he will appreciate what you have done and maybe even pay you money for hosting back. Otherwise, if site goes down you might create big damage for him and loose respect from your ex sponsors.
there is no way he went on vacation read the previous posts all contact stopped instantly after payment there is 2 weeks left until site needs to be moved if i have no contact by then which will be more than a month i will place it on the new hosting and see if he responds to it being dowwn
Unfortunately, I'd think you need to find a way to honor the agreement. Was the issue of moving hosting discussed prior to the sale? If you search the registrant's name in Google, it's easy enough to find a phone number - I'm sure you can determine if it's the same person or not. I'd start there. Best of luck with a speedy resolution.
Is the new owner well known? If not you might think twice what you're doing. I think you gave him already a good amount of time to reply to you. In my opinion , I would check what his record is before is too late.
I would pay for this first month for sure. You have nothing to lose since you agreed to pay for a whole year. It's not your fault if he does not give you DNS. So pay for this month cause as you said it's important month with pr update and you agreed to. Then see if you hear back and re-evaluate.
Omg only 2 weeks have passed, he can still issue chargeback , after 60 days you should be free if no chargeback has been made. But i do not want to scare you at this point, but he could have been a fraud maybe? You have provided him with domain name already and its login, so be prepared, i would suggest you change the password to directory. But if user is trusty, just do not worry about it, you done your part now its his/her headace to reply if wants to.
hmm..if you agreed to host for a year, then thats the deal..YOU host no matter what..If the deal was the buyer doesnt delete links, and he did then he would be breaking agreement and everyone would be on his ass...right?..reasons i sa this is i sold a site, and said i would host for 2 months..it took 5 for me to get in touch with the guy..i had to pay a few dollars more per month to accompany his site that i sold, but i made the deal
I would not have started a thread of this natue. It should be sorted between you and the buyer. Giving negative feedbacks after few weeks is little strange.
