So not true we do web hosting which see's a lot of hacked paypal accounts attempt to pay us. We haven't had our account limited once when accepting these funds. If we do not catch the account Paypal well place the funds on hold and what ends up happening is we do not get them. This is the same situation we run into when we accept funds via credit card to. If the card ends up being stolen it results in a charge back and we get hit with a fee on it. I personally do not like dealing with credit cards compared to Paypal. THe amount of extra loops people have to do in order to get a credit card on a Paypal account is a pain. So I see very few charge backs via Paypal but on a credit card it's sure a lot easier to use a stolen card. When the person uses a stolen card I get hit with a charge back fee while when it's a stolen Paypal account I lose the funds and that is all.
This thread made me get a MB account, it's free so why not I hope that my future customers thank me for my "effort"
Paypal is the best system payment for me, with paypal i can transfer money to my bank account by xoom.com, the fees is not much bigger and i aways have success with paypal.
There is one reason actually to use Paypal: The FeedBurner ad network (FAN) pay in Paypal for example and it's very easy that way.
My first online job payment was through paypal. Actually, the company had given me an option to choose between check payment or paypal payment. I prefered paypal payment because I realised that since I am fom India, I could use dollars in the form of paypal funds to buy things online.Paypal works for me.
I use paypal because 2CheckOut requires that your card be "verified by visa" which is a lengthy process that is nearly impossible to complete for some people (including me!) because of which bank they use. I've had money "in hand" and 100% ready to purchase, but wind up buying nothing from the merchant ever again because they used 2CO exclusively. One easy way to not get screwed over by paypal is: Don't Keep A Large Balance! It's really that easy! If you are keeping $10'000 in paypal and not in your secure bank account, you're a fool and it's only a matter of time before something bad happens to it. But for accepting payments from the general public, only CCBill is better than PayPal. If you have a large budget, I'd say go with CCBill because they are the best and don't fault you for charge-backs. If you have a lower budget, I'd say go with PayPal.
paypal is great for buyers, but terrible for sellers. you can never win a dispute, buyers can cancel your subscriptions real easily. I both hate and love it depending what side I'm on.
