insultr is a very basic site, yet it has gotten great traffic from StumbleUpon and I believe it could continue to get more traffic and be very profitable with more promotion.





The only promotion I did for the site was to setup a page (http://insultr.com/new.php) and stumble it. About two weeks later I checked the stats and they were through the roof. I then finished the main page and stumbled that as well. The site has gotten great reviews on SU and is doing quite well from the traffic.

In June there were 207 clicks on the AuctionAds ads (screenshot above). Sadly, the clicks didn't convert that well with AuctionAds and I only made $0.57, but if you were to have AdSense on the site instead you will make a lot more from 207 clicks.

I may be tired and confused please clarify but does your site offer a javascript snippet in addition to displaying insults on homepage for others to install on their site, linking back to insultr?

 

Originally that was the idea, but I never finished that part of the site. It is something I would suggest you add though

 

Sorry, I am interested bu have another few questions. Any costs involved in transfer of the domain? How many insults in database? Could there be a problem with adsense placement and any 'insults' breaching their TOS? Custom or turnkey script?

 

There shouldn't be any costs for you after the transfer. If you have GoDaddy we can do an account change (free) and then you have/own the site. The script is custom so there are no costs there and you have full rights to the database.

The database has 4,291 total "insults". It all depends where you put you AdSense, but I believe where I currently have the AuctionAds is fine placement for AdSense (I haven't used AdSense in about 4 years). Also, I don't think any of the insults should cause any trouble with the AdSense TOS.

why are all hits for refer.php??? did you bought a couple of hits in one time?

All the hits are coming from refer.php because that is what the link is for stumbleupon and that is where all the traffic is coming from. It's not strange at all. They aren't coming from other search engines because it's a fairly new site and it's only one page...
