How do you think I'm doing? (SEO)

Hi everyone, I would like some of your opinions on how I'm doing with my site (SEO-wise mainly) I've had the site for a little over 1 year now, and I think Google trusts it now (a day or two after I post something on the front page, it pops up (at the top) in Google for the keywords used :))

My site is PhotoshopStar, and I'm on page 2 for the keywords I want (Photoshop Tutorials)

Please feel free to give me feedback - the site is in my sig

    Thanks

Quite nice but you have a long way to be #1. Try to be higher on the other niche keywords that can bring you upper on the "photoshop tutorials" also.

Page 2 is pretty good. It can be very tough getting over the 25th hill.

I noticed you haven't redirect your domain urls. For example I can access the following:

    http://www.photoshopstar.com/
    http://photoshopstar.com/
    http://photoshopstar.com/index.php

Google see's these as different urls with the same content so it could be an issue. Personally I prefer to redirect everything into a single url, usually to www.

In your case you may not want to rock the boat, so to speak, so throwing in a redirect might spoil your rankings.

At this point I would hunt down blogs that are based on your niche or with people interested in it. Start making comments on their blogs on a regular basis so hopefully they'll see what you have and start linking out to you.

I think its only a matter of time before you leap onto page 1. Andy Beard has an excellent post on WordPress SEO that should give you some ideas.

Hey, thanks for the tips! Lately I've been making a couple of comments on similar tutorial websites - it's really a good idea

About the url's: I wasn't aware of that, although I don't think I should do anything about it now, since it's been like that for a quite a while.

I've read a fair few of the most popular "WordPress SEO" articles, and I had already followed most of their recommendations already, so I think I'm doing alright so far :)

Looks Good! Keep up on any SEO like link building to gain some more trust in Google to get on that first page.

Yes indeed. I recently added a blog section, which helps with posting more general stuff, but I still need to update it soon (haven't for a few days :()

Yes, adding a blog can help a lot.
This gives you the possibility to write for things not necessarily related to your niche and still create some buzz.
